On 18 Feb 05 Deputy Sheriff Evans initiated
a traffic stop on Chamberlain Drive near Clark Road after observing
the vehicle he was following travel left of the centerline
twice on State Route 60 and another two times as he turned
onto Chamberlain Drive. Having admitted consuming three or
four beers, Roy J. McKnight obliged Deputy Evans’ request
to perform field sobriety tests. Subsequent to Mr. McKnight’s
poor performance on the tests, Deputy Evans arrested him for
OVI and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 18 Feb 05 Deputy Sheriff Evans initiated
a traffic stop on Gilman Avenue near Westview Avenue after
observing a vehicle traveling 46 mph in a 35 mph zone. In speaking
with the driver, James E. Hill, age 52, 122 Oak Grove Lane,
Marietta, Deputy Evans recognized Mr. Hill’s speech as
slow and lethargic. When questioned Mr. Hill answered he consumed
alcohol earlier in the evening and also submitted himself to
field sobriety tests. Following his poor performance on the
tests, Deputy Evans arrested Mr. Hill him for OVI and for driving
under an OVI suspended license and transported him to the Washington
County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
David Timothy Close, age 34, 105 Race Street,
Marietta, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for
failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer, both
misdemeanors. Close was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio
State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 18 Feb 05 at 4:10 am.
William Boyd Deem, age 44, 24905 Rawley Lane,
Coolville, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Deem was arrested on State Route 339 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18
Feb 05 at 9:35 am.
Kevin Charles Nolan, age 36, 205 Armstrong Avenue, Williamstown,
for operating without a license and for OVI, both misdemeanors.
Nolan was arrested at Burger King by Patrolman Kampmeier of
the Marietta City Police Department and was processed into
the Washington County Jail on 18 Feb 05 at 9:14 pm.
Roy James McKnight, age 53, 708 Devola Street, Marietta, for
.17 breath OVI, a misdemeanor. McKnight was arrested in Devola
by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 18 Feb 05 at 10:35 pm.
