On 17 Feb 05 Deputy Sheriff Gherke responded
to a casualty reported at a residence on Second Lane in Belpre.
The victim stated she slipped while walking through her home
and accidentally impaled herself with a pair of scissors. The
Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Department transported the thirty-eight
year old to St. Joseph’s Hospital for further treatment
and evaluation.
On 17 Feb 05 Justin K. Rockland, age 18, 270
Caywood Road, Marietta, reported after midnight that morning
an unknown suspect(s) broke the driver side mirror on, cracked
the rear bumper of and threw eggs and meat products on his
2003 Chevy Cavalier. This case remains under investigation
(792).
On 17 Feb 05 Deputy Sheriff Mankins initiated
a traffic stop on Deming Road near State Route 550 after
observing the northbound vehicle travel completely into the
southbound
lane. Learning through a computer records check the driver,
William J. King, age 26, 1774 Deming Road, Fleming, had a
suspended license, Deputy Mankins also noticed an odor of alcohol
in
the vehicle. Mr. King admitted consuming four beers earlier
in the evening and when so asked, agreed to submit to field
sobriety tests. Following his poor performance on the tests,
Deputy Mankins arrested Mr. King for OVI, for possession
of drug paraphernalia and for carrying a concealed weapon,
having
found rolling papers and a pipe in the pocket of Mr. King
prior to his arrest and a knife in the console of his vehicle.
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
Kenneth R. Sparks, age 27, address unknown,
for the theft of a Playstation, two games and two controllers
on 20 Jul 04.
Tyler N. Bailey, age 23, 1210 Cisler Drive, Marietta, for
breach of recognizance for failure to appear for pretrial on
4 Feb 05.
Robert T. Lanese III, age 19, 4510 Fruitland Drive, Parma,
OH, for failing to show proof of completing forty-five hours
of community service as ordered by the court.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
William Joseph King, age 26, 1774 Deming Road,
Fleming, for .08 breath OVI, for driving under a suspended
license, for possession of drug paraphernalia and for carrying
a concealed weapon, all misdemeanors. King was arrested on
Deming Road by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 17 Feb 05 at 4:50 am.
Norma Jean Preston, age 34, 728 Third Street,
Marietta, for passing bad checks, a misdemeanor. Preston was
arrested at her residence by Patrolman Douglas of the Marietta
City Police Department and was processed into the Washington
County Jail on 17 Feb 05 at 8:45 pm.
