On 11 Feb 05 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes initiated a traffic stop after observing the vehicle he was following travel left of the centerline prior to turning from County House Lane onto Mount Tom Road.  Identifying the driver as Brian A. Silvus, age 21, 4225 North Early Ridge Road, McConnelsville, Deputy Rhodes learned through a computer check that Mr. Silvus' driver's license was suspended.  Subsequent to taking Mr. Silvus into custody Deputy Rhodes requested the assistance of the Marietta City Police Department's canine unit to determine if drugs were possibly in the vehicle.  The canine indicated and an Altoids tin containing marijuana seeds along with a smoking device were located around the ashtray inside the vehicle.  Deputy Rhodes arrested Mr. Silvus on charges of driving under a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving left of center and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 11 Feb 05 a forty-six year old Lowell resident reported an acquaintance continues to place harassing phone calls to her residence despite being ordered not to do so on at least five separate occasions. This case remains under investigation (296).

On 11 Feb 05 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes initiated a traffic stop near mile post two on State Route 550 after observing the vehicle he was following travel left of the centerline. Though determining the driver was not operating while impaired, Deputy Rhodes observed an open case of Bud Light between the back seat passengers Vicky L. Riddle, age 46, 1408 Roselawn Avenue, Parkersburg, and Angela J. Carpenter, age 41, 220 South Sixth Street, Marietta. Opening the box, Deputy Rhodes also noticed a silver tube he believed to be a crack pipe. Both women denied being the owner of the pipe but did admit consuming alcohol in the vehicle that evening and were issued summonses by Deputy Rhodes to appear in court for such actions. After first denying it, the third passenger n the car, Krystal M. Lincoln, age 40, 729 Ninth Street, Marietta, confessed to being the owner of that pipe and an additional pipe Deputy Rhodes discovered inside the Bud Light box. In consequence Deputy Rhodes arrested Ms. Lincoln for possession of drug paraphernalia and transported her to the Washington County Jail.
