On 11 Feb 05 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes initiated
a traffic stop after observing the vehicle he was following
travel left of the centerline prior to turning from County
House Lane onto Mount Tom Road. Identifying
the driver as Brian A. Silvus, age 21, 4225 North Early Ridge Road, McConnelsville, Deputy Rhodes learned
through a computer check that Mr. Silvus' driver's
license was suspended. Subsequent to taking Mr. Silvus into
custody Deputy Rhodes requested the assistance of the Marietta
City Police Department's canine unit to determine
if drugs were possibly in the vehicle. The canine indicated and an Altoids tin
containing marijuana seeds along with a smoking device
were located around the ashtray inside the vehicle. Deputy
Rhodes arrested Mr. Silvus on charges of driving under
a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia and
driving left of center and transported him to the
Washington County Jail.
On 11 Feb 05 a forty-six year old Lowell resident
reported an acquaintance continues to place harassing phone
calls to her residence despite being ordered not to do so on
at least five separate occasions. This case remains under investigation
(296).
On 11 Feb 05 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes initiated
a traffic stop near mile post two on State Route 550 after
observing the vehicle he was following travel left of the centerline.
Though determining the driver was not operating while impaired,
Deputy Rhodes observed an open case of Bud Light between the
back seat passengers Vicky L. Riddle, age 46, 1408 Roselawn
Avenue, Parkersburg, and Angela J. Carpenter, age 41, 220 South
Sixth Street, Marietta. Opening the box, Deputy Rhodes also
noticed a silver tube he believed to be a crack pipe. Both
women denied being the owner of the pipe but did admit consuming
alcohol in the vehicle that evening and were issued summonses
by Deputy Rhodes to appear in court for such actions. After
first denying it, the third passenger n the car, Krystal M.
Lincoln, age 40, 729 Ninth Street, Marietta, confessed to being
the owner of that pipe and an additional pipe Deputy Rhodes
discovered inside the Bud Light box. In consequence Deputy
Rhodes arrested Ms. Lincoln for possession of drug paraphernalia
and transported her to the Washington County Jail.

Thomas E. Malone, age 26, 308 Main Street, Lowell, for contempt
for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines in the sum of $2,095.21.
Jason J. Corp, age 31, 20 Hopman
Road, Whipple, for failing to appear to serve three days
in jail on 9 Jan 05.
Gretchen A. Mace, age 19, 18001 State Route 676, Marietta,
for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $292.50.
Todd W. Wells, age 36, 2441 Dalzell Road, Whipple, for violating
the terms of his probation by failing to show proof of obtaining
a valid operator’s license or to appear to serve ten
days in jail on 5 Jan 05.
Mark P. Boyce, age 21, 119 New York Avenue, West Union, WV,
for breaking and entering on 22 Jan 05.
James O. Reed, age 67, 119 New York Avenue, West Union, WV,
for breaking and entering on 22 Jan 05.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Brian Andrew Silvus, age 21, 4225 Early Ridge
Road, McConnelsville, for violating the terms of his probation,
for possession of drug paraphernalia, for driving under a suspended
license and for driving left of center, all misdemeanors. Silvus
was arrested on County House Lane by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Feb 05
at 2:03 am.
Michael James Dye, age 30, 4660 Huck Road,
Lowell, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Dye was arrested
at Magnum Magnetics by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 11 Feb 05 at 12:08 pm.
Thomas Stewart Rutter, age 42, 322 Cole-Coffman Road, Marietta,
was arrested at Magnum Magnetics by Deputy Sheriff Mankins
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Feb 05
at 12:10 pm.
Warren Stephen Lee Tucker, age 23, 112 Maple Street Apt. 2,
Marietta, for driving under and FRA suspended license, for
theft and for contempt of a court order, all misdemeanors.
Tucker turned himself in to Patrolman Douglas at the Marietta
City Police Department and was processed into the Washington
County Jail on 11 Feb 05 at 1:20 pm.
Jason Christoph Scarberry, age 32, 14215 Silvia Avenue, Cleveland,
for a felony charge of receiving stolen property and misdemeanor
charges of violating the terms of his probation and failure
to appear. Scarberry was picked up in Ashtabula County by Deputy
Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 11 Feb 05 at 12:08 pm.
Thomas Lee Shank II, age 45, Fifth Street Ext., Lowell, for
failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines,
a misdemeanor. Shank was arrested in Lowell by Sgt. Hiatt of
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 11 Feb 05 at 8:05 pm.
James Grimm Janes Sr., age 53, PO Box 422, Lowell, for failure
to appear, a misdemeanor. Janes was arrested on Dixon Ridge
Road in Lowell by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11
Feb 05 at 8:25 pm.
