On 3 Feb 05 Deputy Sheriff Mankins investigated a single vehicle accident on Stanleyville Road two miles east of Collins Road in Fearing Township. Unfamiliar with the road, Marlene D. Warner, age 50, 45736 Ada Street, Caldwell, entered a curve traveling southbound and due to her high rate of speed, began to slide on cinders, overcorrected her steering and slid off the road into an embankment, causing her vehicle to roll over onto its right side. Ms. Warner suffered minor injuries and was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital by the Fearing Volunteer Fire Department while her heavily damaged vehicle was towed from the scene.

On 3 Feb 05 while he stood outside a residence on the 600 block of Chamberlain Drive in Marietta, a motorist stopped to inform Sgt. Hiatt of a driver operating a black SUV in an erratic manner farther down the road and that the vehicle just struck a mailbox. Sgt. Hiatt located the vehicle near Masonic Park Road and observed the vehicle travel off the roadway. Interviewing the driver, Renee Elliott, age 42, 1882 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, Sgt. Hiatt noticed an odor of alcohol and Ms. Elliott admitted consuming alcohol earlier that evening. Following her poor performance on field sobriety tests, Sgt. Hiatt arrested Ms. Elliott for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel and transported her to the Washington County Jail.

On 3 Feb 05 while on patrol in the vicinity of the Four Seasons in Marietta, Lt. Wilson encountered a disturbance outside the establishment. Restrained by a male subject, Vicki Warne, age 31, 646 Phillips Street, Marietta, yelled and cursed at another female, continually lunging toward another woman. When Mrs. Warne failed to cease her actions when so ordered, Lt. Wilson removed her from the altercation by pulling on the back of her jacket. By the time Sgt. Hiatt arrived to assist in the situation, Mrs. Warne’s husband Michael, age 36, began interfering with Lt. Wilson’s attempts to subdue his wife. When Mr. Warne failed to capitulate, Sgt. Hiatt deployed his Taser in order to take Mr. Warne into custody. Arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail, Mrs. Warne was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication while Mr. Warne was charged with failure to cease and desist and resisting arrest.
