On 3 Feb 05 Deputy Sheriff Mankins investigated
a single vehicle accident on Stanleyville Road two miles east
of Collins Road in Fearing Township. Unfamiliar with the road,
Marlene D. Warner, age 50, 45736 Ada Street, Caldwell, entered
a curve traveling southbound and due to her high rate of speed,
began to slide on cinders, overcorrected her steering and slid
off the road into an embankment, causing her vehicle to roll
over onto its right side. Ms. Warner suffered minor injuries
and was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital by the Fearing
Volunteer Fire Department while her heavily damaged vehicle
was towed from the scene.
On 3 Feb 05 while he stood outside a residence
on the 600 block of Chamberlain Drive in Marietta, a motorist
stopped to inform Sgt. Hiatt of a driver operating a black
SUV in an erratic manner farther down the road and that the
vehicle just struck a mailbox. Sgt. Hiatt located the vehicle
near Masonic Park Road and observed the vehicle travel off
the roadway. Interviewing the driver, Renee Elliott, age 42,
1882 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, Sgt. Hiatt noticed an odor
of alcohol and Ms. Elliott admitted consuming alcohol earlier
that evening. Following her poor performance on field sobriety
tests, Sgt. Hiatt arrested Ms. Elliott for OVI and for driving
outside the marked lanes of travel and transported her to the
Washington County Jail.
On 3 Feb 05 a sixty-seven year old Marietta
resident reported for the last two months he has been receiving
harassing phone calls in the early morning hours. This case
remains under investigation (1091).
On 3 Feb 05 while on patrol in the vicinity
of the Four Seasons in Marietta, Lt. Wilson encountered a disturbance
outside the establishment. Restrained by a male subject, Vicki
Warne, age 31, 646 Phillips Street, Marietta, yelled and cursed
at another female, continually lunging toward another woman.
When Mrs. Warne failed to cease her actions when so ordered,
Lt. Wilson removed her from the altercation by pulling on the
back of her jacket. By the time Sgt. Hiatt arrived to assist
in the situation, Mrs. Warne’s husband Michael, age 36,
began interfering with Lt. Wilson’s attempts to subdue
his wife. When Mr. Warne failed to capitulate, Sgt. Hiatt deployed
his Taser in order to take Mr. Warne into custody. Arrested
and transported to the Washington County Jail, Mrs. Warne was
charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication while Mr. Warne
was charged with failure to cease and desist and resisting
arrest.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Shaun Allen Griffin, age 20, 403 Lord Street,
Marietta, for passing bad checks and for failure to appear
at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, both misdemeanors.
Griffin was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Huffman
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 3 Feb 05 at 12:15 am.
Renee Yvonne Elliott, age 42, 1882 Masonic
Park Road, Marietta, for OVI and for driving outside the marked
lanes of travel, both misdemeanors. Elliott was arrested on
Masonic Park Road by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Feb
05 at 6:30 pm.
Michael Dean Warne, age 36, 646 Phillips Street, Marietta,
for disorderly conduct and for resisting arrest, both misdemeanors.
Warne was arrested at the Four Seasons by Lt. Wilson of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 3 Feb 05 at 10:50 pm.
Vickie Lee Warne, age 31, 646 Phillips Street, Marietta, for
disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Warne was
arrested at the Four Seasons by Lt. Wilson of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 3 Feb 05 at 10:50 pm.
