On 30 Jan 05 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes initiated
a traffic stop on State Route 60 near Masonic Park Road after
observing a vehicle traveling 64 mph in a 45 mph zone. Immediately
detecting an odor of alcohol on the driver, Edward A. Isaly,
age 32, 5727 Charlesgate Road, Huber Heights, OH, Deputy Rhodes
administered field sobriety tests, on which Mr. Isaly performed
poorly. On subsequent searches of the person and vehicle of
Mr. Isaly, Deputy Rhodes recovered a bag believed to be marijuana
along with a rudimentary smoking device fashioned from aluminum
foil. Consequently, Deputy Rhodes charged Mr. Isaly for OVI,
possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding
and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 30 Jan 05 Craig Gainer, age 24, PO Box
821, Spencer, WV, reported while attending a party at a residence
in Belpre, an acquaintance took his truck without permission
and was later discovered, wrecked in West Virginia. This case
remains under investigation (1203).
On 30 Jan 05 Joanne M. O’Brien, age
44, 111 Robson Road, Marietta, reported witnessing an acquaintance
skulking about her residence from the roadway after being asked
to cease such activities. This case remains under investigation
(1184).
On 30 Jan 05 Deputy Sheriffs Malone and Eddy
were dispatched to 302 Ferncliff Drive, Marietta, in response
to a domestic dispute. Madenna Haessly, age 44, stated her
live-in boyfriend Donald Hunter, age 51, may have been upset
that she spent the night with a relative in Monroe County and
threw the phone at her legs. Mr. Hunter then choked Ms. Hunter
for a period of time, causing her to be in fear for her safety.
In consequence, Deputy Malone arrested Mr. Hunter for domestic
violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 30 Jan 05 a thirty-one year old Marietta
resident reported receiving numerous harassing and derogatory
phone calls during a two hour span that evening. This case
remains under investigation (586).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Kevin Matthew Wroe, age 31, 237 Lake Washington
Club, Washington, WV, for OVI, for driving under a suspended
license, for not wearing a seat belt and for driving outside
the marked lanes of travel, all misdemeanors. Wroe was arrested
on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 30 Jan 05 at 1:15 am.
Edward Allen Isaly, age 32, 5727 Charles Gate Road, Huber
Heights, OH, for OVI, for possession of drugs, for possession
of drug paraphernalia and for speeding, all misdemeanors. Isaly
was arrested on State Route 60 by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Jan 05 at 3:15
am.
Timothy Joseph Reilly, age 20, Marietta College Box 138, Marietta,
for assault, criminal trespassing, for underage consumption
of alcohol and for disorderly conduct by fighting, all misdemeanors.
Reilly was arrested on the Campus of Marietta College by Officer
Moon of the Marietta College Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 30 Jan 05 at 4:05 am.
Mickie Dawn Neihart, age 22, 506 Walnut Street, Belpre, for
OVI, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled
substance, for not wearing a seat belt and for not having a
license plate light, all misdemeanors. Neihart was arrested
on Walnut Street in Belpre by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 30 Jan 05 at 5:50 am.
Donald Allan Hunter, age 51, 302 Ferncliff Drive, Marietta,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Hunter was arrested at
his residence by Deputy Sheriff Eddy and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 30 Jan 05 at 7:00 pm.
Jennifer A. Szabo, age 25, 312 Fairview Lane, Marietta, for
two felony charges of assault and a misdemeanor charge of possessing
an open container of alcohol. Szabo was arrested in Marietta
by Deputy Sheriff Bichard and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 30 Jan 05 at 9:30 pm.
