On 22 Jan 05 an employee of the Lowell Moose Lodge, 11561 State Route 60, Lowell, reported between 4:30 am and noon that morning an unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the building and stole an undetermined sum of cash. This case remains under investigation (1291).

On 22 Jan 05 Deputy Sheriff Mankins responded to the scene of a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Greene Street and Woodland Avenue in Newport . Christopher S. McMahan, age 35, 2416 Channing Road, University Heights, OH, was traveling westbound on Woodland Avenue when, due to ice on the roadway, he was unable to stop his Saab at the intersection of Greene Street, causing him to slide into a Chevy truck driven by Jerry R. Bond, age 68, 1095 Greene Street, Newport. Both vehicles sustained functional damage, no injuries were reported.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jeffrey Daniel Moore, age 20, 316 Nutter Avenue Lot 75, Belpre, a fugitive from justice, a felony. Moore was arrested on Depot Street in Belpre by Patrolman Smeeks of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Jan 05 at 4:45 am.

William Edward Noland Jr., age 41, 623 Virginia Street , Marietta, for a felony charge of being a fugitive from justice and a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines. Noland was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Jan 05 at 5:50 pm.
