On 14 Jan 05 Deputy Sheriff Mankins initiated a traffic stop on Greene Street near Fourth in Marietta after observing the driver of a Ford truck operating without his headlights on. Detecting an odor of alcohol about the driver, Deputy Mankins administered a series of field sobriety tests on Tanner J. Lahmers, age 21, 228 Oakwood Avenue , Marietta . Following Mr. Lahmers’ poor performance on the tests Deputy Mankins arrested him for OVI and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 14 Jan 05 Deputy Sheriff Evans issued a citation to Joshua E. Sargent, age 19, 1378 Oak Hill Road, Cutler, for traveling 79 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Evans stopped Mr. Sargent near mile post eight on State Route 550 in Fairfield Township.
On 14 Jan 05 Deputy Sheriff Malone was dispatched
to 761 Mount Tom Road in response to a domestic disturbance.
Despite a general lack of cooperation among the victim Richard
Bay, age 37, and his live-in girlfriend Mary Francis, age 42,
Deputy Malone deduced that following an argument over a vehicle
Ms. Francis bit Mr. Bay on the arm. As a result Deputy Malone
issued Ms. Francis a citation for disorderly conduct.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Ralph Francis Kemper Jr., age 34, Marietta,
for contempt of a court order and for violating the terms of
his probation, both misdemeanors. Kemper was arrested in Little
Hocking by Deputy Sheriff Stackpole and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 14 Jan 05 at 12:23 am.
Jimmie Cecil Chapman, age 53, Marietta , for driving under a suspended license and for speeding, both misdemeanors. Chapman was picked in Franklin County by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jan 05 at 5:04 pm.
Norma Jean Preston, age 34, 728 Third Street , Marietta , for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Preston was arrested at her residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jan 05 at 7:57 pm.
