On 12 Jan 05 Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier responded
to a report of the death of a forty-six year old Vincent resident.
The cause of death appears to be self-inflicted, no foul play
is suspected.
On 12 Jan 05 an instructor at the Washington County Career Center reported as
he strolled through the cafeteria he observed a marijuana pipe laying on a table
in front of a seventeen year old student. A subsequent search of the student
produced a butterfly knife and a knife with a four inch blade. This case remains
under investigation (592).
On 12 Jan 05 Joyce Offenberger, age 43, 575 Bramblewood Heights Road, Marietta,
reported two tenants she evicted from a rental property at 17260 State Route
550, allegedly stole the property’s full size refrigerator. This case remains
under investigation (592).
On 12 Jan 05 Jason Parsons, age 19, 1500 State Route 555, Little Hocking, reported
between 3 am and 7 am that morning, an acquaintance may have damaged the windshield
on his Chevy S-10. This case remains under investigation (586).
On 12 Jan 05 Eric Anderson, age 39, 108 Devol
Drive, Marietta, reported between 2 am and 4 am that morning,
an unknown suspect entered his vehicle and removed the loose
change from his ash tray, numerous CD’s and a portable
CD player. This case remains under investigation (945).

James A. Ash, age 46, 16 Pennock Trailer Court
Lot 16, Beverly, for failing to pay court costs by 5 Jan 05.
Aaron R. Fulton, age 18, 510 Smith Street, Marietta, for failing
to appear for a pre-trial hearing on 29 Dec 04.
William R. Shortridge, age 37, 21460 Varner Road, Guysville,
OH, for failing to appear for a pre-trial hearing on 5 Jan
05.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Anthony Charles Smith, age 19, 1922 Seventh
Street Apt. 2, Parkersburg, for driving under a suspended license
and for failing to dim his lights, both misdemeanors. Smith
was arrested on Braun Road in Belpre by Patrolman Morris of
the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 12 Jan 05 at 2:20 am.
Autumn Dawn Smith, age 29, 115 Longacre Street,
Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Smith was arrested
at her residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12
Jan 05 at 2:20 pm.
