On 31 Dec 04 a sixteen year old New Matamoras resident reported a storage building outside her home was forcibly entered and a Nintendo 64 stolen from inside. This case remains under investigation (200).

On 31 Deputy Sheriff Evans was dispatched to New Matamoras in response to public reports of a vehicle operating erratically, the driver then asleep in the vehicle parked in New Matamoras, then driving on State Route 7 with the headlights turned off. Deputy Evans located the vehicle and its driver on State Route 7 and initiated a traffic stop. Detecting an odor of alcohol, Deputy Evans administered field sobriety tests on Elizabeth A. Morris, age 59, 62928 Sigman Road, Cambridge. Following her poor performance on the tests, Deputy Evans arrested Ms. Morris for OVI and transported her to the Washington County Jail.

On 31 Dec 04 Deputy Sheriff Spencer issued citations to a seventeen year old male and a sixteen year old female, both of Vincent for operating four wheelers on Moody Ridge Road.

On 31 Dec 04 Lt. Wilson initiated a traffic stop near mile post twenty on State Route 550 for the vehicle having a broken tail light. In speaking with the driver, Angela Moat, age 21, 960 Christy Road, Fleming, Lt. Wilson noticed an odor of alcohol and requested Ms. Moats perform field sobriety tests. Ms. Moats admitted consuming alcohol and following poor performance on the sobriety tests, was arrested for OVI and transported to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jason Ray Luke, age 22, 525 Fifth Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Luke was arrested on Second Street in Marietta by Probation Officer Gault and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Dec 04 at 2:30 am.

Angela Dawn Moat, age 21, 960 Christy Road, Fleming, for .08 breath OVI, a misdemeanor. Moat was arrested on State Route 550 by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Dec 04 at 3:30 am.

Shawn Michael Fleming, age 30, 30 Coal Run Road, Marietta, for a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation and misdemeanor charges of .08 breath OVI, operating without a license, for driving under an FRA suspended license, for not wearing a seat belt, for driving outside the marked lanes of travel and for failing to comply with the signal of an officer. Fleming was arrested on County Road 2 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Dec 04 at 3:50 am.

Vera Gay Johnson, age 53, 115 ½ Court Street Apt. F, Ripley, WV, for OVI and operating with license plates belonging to the vehicle’s former owner, both misdemeanors. Johnson was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Dec 04 at 11:30 am.

Philip Wiley Kinney, age 48, 601 Fourth Street, Williamstown, for a felony charge of criminal damaging and a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence. Kinney turned himself in to Deputy Sheriff Mankins and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Dec 04 at 6:35 pm.

Joshua Scott Gibson, age 20, 109 Washington Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Gibson was arrested on Pleasant Ridge Road by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Dec 04 at 10:00 pm.
