On 18 Dec 04 Ray Grandon, age 80, 13826 State
Route 550, Fleming, reported two of his former tenants allegedly
caused excessive damage to his rental property on McGill Road
in Vincent. This case remains under investigation (200).
On 18 Dec 04 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes initiated
a traffic stop on Oxbow Road in Belpre after observing the
vehicle he was following operating without functioning taillights.
In speaking with the driver, Brian A. Silvus, age 21, 4225
North Early Ridge Road, McConnelsville, Deputy Rhodes noticed
a strong odor of marijuana. Separating the vehicle’s
passengers until Lt. Canavan arrived, Deputy Rhodes searched
the vehicle and discovered multiple bags of marijuana and smoking
devices. One passenger confessed to Lt. Canavan that Mr. Silvus
had smoked marijuana prior to being stopped by Deputy Rhodes.
In consequence Deputy Rhodes arrested Mr. Silvus for OVI, possession
of drug paraphernalia and for having a faulty equipment light
and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 18 Dec 04 Randall M. Styer, age 48, 1885
Zion Ridge Road, Marietta, an inmate at the Washington County
Jail, reported another inmate allegedly obtained information
about his phone card then used it without permission. This
case remains under investigation (597).
On 18 Dec 04 Deputy Sheriff Malone along with
the Warren Volunteer Fire Department responded to a trailer
home fire at the home of Don Lott, age 42, 200 Greenhill Road,
Marietta. No injuries resulted from the presently unsuspicious
fire though this case remains under investigation.
On 18 Dec 04 D. Smith, age 29, 115 Longacre
Street, Marietta, alleged that her live-in boyfriend assaulted
her after the two attended an office Christmas party earlier
the previous evening. This case remains under investigation
(232, 200).
On 18 Dec 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins responded
to a report of an assault at the Marietta Bible College at
4070 State Route 60, Marietta. Adam R. Phillips, age 19, stated
another student barged into his dormitory room, shouted a lewd
remark and struck him in the cheek with his elbow. The assailant,
James E. Thompson, age 34, admitted initiating the altercation
after an incident with Mr. Phillips one week prior. In consequence
to in investigation Deputy Mankins requested a summons for
Mr. Thompson for assault.
The following individual
wAS processed into the Washington County Jail:
Brian Andrew Silvus, age 21, 4225 Early Ridge
Road, McConnelsville, for OVI, possession of drug paraphernalia
and for having a faulty equipment light, all misdemeanors.
Silvus was arrested on Oxbow Road by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Dec 04
at 10:30 pm.
