On 16 Dec 04 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes investigated
a two vehicle collision on a private driveway on Joe Skinner
Road in Dunham Township. Deloris Silvus, age 65, 1485 State
Route 83 North, Beverly, was backing her Ford truck down a
driveway when she struck an unoccupied Pontiac Grand Am owned
by Jessica J. Sayger, 1285 Green Hill Road, Marietta. Damage
to both vehicles was light, no injuries were reported.
On 16 Dec 04 an employee of Washington County
Home, 845 County House Lane, Marietta, reported a resident
may be receiving social security benefits to which he is not
entitled. This case remains under investigation (500).
On 16 Dec 04 Serita D. Wears, age 34, 1580
Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, reported when she applied for an
increased line of credit she learned another individual used
her social security number to obtain a credit card. This case
remains under investigation (200).
On 16 Dec 04 Shoshonna J. Schwendeman, age
21, 685 Mitchell’s Lane, Marietta, reported she was assaulted
by her thirteen year old cousin. Ms. Schwendeman stated her
cousin was on the telephone when she asked her to help put
away groceries. When the thirteen year old declined, Ms. Schwendeman
hung the phone up, causing her cousin to fly into a fit of
rage. The juvenile tried breaking the window by elbowing it
then kicked Ms. Schwendeman in the stomach three times. In
consequence to her actions, Sgt. Hiatt arrested the juvenile
for being delinquent and transported her to the Washington
County Juvenile Center.
On 16 Dec 04 while on patrol, Deputy Sheriff
McLeish observed a suspicious vehicle parked at Hills covered
bridge at the intersection of County Roads 544 and 9. Upon
further inspection Deputy McLeish saw three females in the
vehicle along with what appeared to be a bong and a plastic
bag of marijuana on the floorboard of the back seat. Samantha
D. Gilliam, age 19, 310 Lord Street, Marietta, admitted the
marijuana was hers while a sixteen year old confessed to possessing
the drug paraphernalia. Deputy McLeish issued Ms. Gilliam a
minor misdemeanor citation for possession of marijuana and
a summons to the sixteen year old for delinquency charges before
releasing her to the custody of her mother.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Sherry Mae Flowers, age 38, 7275 Veto Road,
Belpre, for OVI and for speeding, both misdemeanors. Flowers
was arrested on County Road 3 by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Dec 04 at 12:04
am.
Jason Allen Wilson, age 19, 930 Ella Street, Orrville, OH,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Wilson was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman
McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 16 Dec 04 at 1:30 am.
Deane Allen Beck Jr., age 24, 1008 30th Street, Parkersburg,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines and for violating the terms of his probation, both misdemeanors.
Beck was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman McCracken of the
Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 16 Dec 04 at 3:40 am.
Georgios Christos Pardos, age 38, 260 Rome
Hilliard Road, Columbus, for passing bad checks, a felony.
Pardos was picked up at the Jackson County Jail by Sgt. Hiatt
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 16 Dec 04 at 5:00 pm.
Rusty Lavern Davis, age 31, 316 Swan Creek Road, Crown City,
OH, for driving under an FRA suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Davis was arrested on State Route 7 north by Deputy Sheriff
McLeish and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16
Dec 04 at 5:20 pm.
