On 11 Dec 04 Kelly Barnhart, age 40, 100 Winters
Road, Marietta, reported between 10 pm and midnight the previous
evening a carload of teenagers may have thrown an improvised
explosive device, i.e. a two liter bottle containing a grey
substance under pressure, in the back of her yard. This case
remains under investigation (296).
On 11 Dec Lt. Canavan responded to the scene
of a single vehicle crash near mile post three on State Route
26. Locating the driver, James C. Hupp, age 55, 111 West
Montgomery Street, Marietta, at a nearby residence, Lt. Canavan
inquired
about the crash scene. Mr. Hupp stated he came from the Moose
Club after consuming alcohol en route to a relative’s
home. Mr. Hupp further elaborated that he missed a turn,
continued to the next driveway to reverse direction and crashed
into
a ditch. After testing above the legal limit on a portable
breath test, Lt. Canavan arrested Mr. Hupp for OVI and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.
On 11 Dec 04 Lt. Huffer and Deputy Sheriff
Mankins were dispatched to 209 Fifth Street Ext., Lowell, in
response to a domestic dispute. Lawrence E. Erb, age 39, stated
he went to sleep after being confronted by his live-in girlfriend
Tammy Taylor, age 35, over his amorous exploits. He awoke a
short time later to Ms. Taylor’s screaming, standing
over him with a knife. After having the knife wrestled away
Ms. Taylor began throwing Mr. Erb’s guitars out the door
indicating her desire for him to move out. Disheartened by
the gesture, Mr. Erb pushed Ms. Taylor to floor, during which
time she sustained a cut to her lip. Finding fault with both
parties, the Deputies arrested Mr. Erb and Ms. Taylor for domestic
violence and transported them to the Washington County Jail.
On 11 Dec 04 Linda Spriggs, age 44, 13357
State Route 7, Marietta, reported while her home was unattended
between Friday and Saturday afternoons, over a hundred dollars
of her Christmas money was stolen from her coat pocket. This
case remains under investigation (586).
On 11 Dec 04 Sgt. Hiatt investigated an altercation
between Richard L. Wynn, age 45, and his son Colt, age 19,
at their residence, 1902 Rocky Point Road, Fleming. A short
dispute over the use of a shotgun escalated to a point where
the junior Wynn punched his father twice in the head. Determining
the elder Wynn was in fear for his safety, Sgt. Hiatt arrested
Colt for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington
County Jail.

Jason Lee Daugherty, age 18, 472 Carpenter
Avenue, Columbus, for two felony charges of trafficking in
drugs. Daugherty was arrested on State Route 550 by Detective
Warden of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Dec 04 at 12:55
am.
Angela Carol Daugherty, age 42, 472 Carpenter Avenue, Columbus,
for two felony charges of trafficking in drugs. Daugherty was
arrested on State Route 550 by Detective Warden of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 11 Dec 04 at 1:10 am.
Maleigha Shonta Adams, age 25, 890 Lilley Avenue, Columbus,
for two felony charges of trafficking in drugs. Adams was arrested
on State Route 550 by Detective Warden of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 11 Dec 04 at 2:00 am.
Russell James Morris, age 31, 1612 Som-Center Road, Mayfield
Heights, OH, for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes
of travel, both misdemeanors. Morris was arrested on Interstate
77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 11 Dec 04 at 2:20 am.
Tammy Lynn Taylor, age 35, 209 Fifth Street Ext., Lowell,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Taylor was arrested at
her residence by Lt. Huffer of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11
Dec 04 at 2:45 am.

for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Erb was arrested at his
residence by Lt. Huffer of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11
Dec 04 at 3:10 am.
Vincent Ellis Moore, age 31, 1125 Cole-Coffman Road, Marietta,
for .08 breath OVI and for driving left of center, both misdemeanors.
Moore was arrested in Beverly by Patrolman Oliver of the Beverly
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 11 Dec 04 at 3:30 am.
Chasady Lynn Whipkey, age 18, 305 39th Street, Vienna, for
operating with an expired license, possession of drug paraphernalia,
possession of drugs and for juvenile offenses, all misdemeanors.
Whipkey was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11
Dec 04 at 4:30 am.
Richard S. Buttermore, age 30, 2719 Mead Street, Belpre, for
disorderly conduct by fighting, a misdemeanor. Buttermore was
arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 11 Dec 04 at 7:00 am.
Kathy Jane Adams, age 45, 890 Lilley Avenue Apt. 8, Columbus,
for two felony charges of trafficking in drugs. Adams was arrested
on State Route 550 by Detective Warden of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 11 Dec 04 at 10:27 am.
Jimmy Rex Parker, age 43, 500 Thirteenth Street, Parkersburg,
for violating a court ordered protection order, a misdemeanor.
Parker was arrested on Washington Boulevard in Belpre by Patrolman
Smeeks of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 11 Dec 04 at 11:25 am.
Tyler Nathaniel Bailey, age 23, 1210 Cisler Drive, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Bailey
was arrested on Marietta Lane by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 11 Dec 04 at 5:55 pm.

for OVI and for failure to control, both misdemeanors. Hupp
was arrested on State Route 26 by Lt. Canavan of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 11 Dec 04 at 8:45 pm.
