On 8 Dec 04 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes responded to a domestic violence complaint reported by Connie S. Simms, age 46, 120 Berry Lane, Marietta. Mrs. Simms stated two days prior she wrote and forged her husband’s name on a check and cashed it and this greatly angered her husband. Alvin D. Simms, age 44, lambasted his wife, poked her in the chest three times, ordered her out of the house and threatened to kill her and knock her head off. Based on his investigation, Deputy Rhodes arrested Mr. Simms for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 8 Dec 04 Christopher R. Foster, age 29, 120 Miller Street, Marietta, struck a deer as he traveled eastbound on State Route 550 near Virginia Street. Mr. Foster reported no injuries while his Pontiac Sunfire Voyager sustained non-functional damage.

On 8 Dec 04 an employee of White Oak Pharmacy, 8463 State Route 339, Vincent, reported when she arrived at work at 4:30 am that morning, she discovered the building’s alarm system was not working properly, the front door lock was broken, the pharmacy door was open and an unknown quantity of merchandise was missing. This case remains under investigation (684).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Daniel Dwayne Gaughan, age 38, 662 Main Street, Beverly, for violating the terms of his parole, a felony. Gaughan was arrested at the Townhouse in Marietta by Patrolman Sury of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Dec 04 at 3:25 am.

Ralph Everette Deberry, age 53, 812 Main Street, Belpre, for breach of recognizance, for failure to appear and for passing bad checks, all misdemeanors. Deberry was arrested on Main Street in Belpre by Patrolman Jobes of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Dec 04 at 4:05 am.

Timothy R. Higginbtham, age 28, 542 Apple Street, New Martinsville, WV, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Higginbotham was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Perry and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Dec 04 at 2:40 pm.

Ryan Steven Stein, age 30, 1595 Eighth Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, for violating the terms of his probation and for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, both misdemeanors. Stein was picked up in Summit County by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Dec 04 at 3:00 pm.

Alvin Dean Simms, age 44, 120 Berry Lane, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Simms was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Dec 04 at 7:00 pm.
