On 7 Dec 04 Deputy Sheriff Norman investigated a hit-skip collision that Thomas Vandale, 1115 Goose Run Road, Marietta, reported occurred two days before. Mr. Vandale’s Ford F-150 was parked on a rental property he owns at 555 Dodd Run Road, Marietta, when an unknown red vehicle sideswiped his truck causing moderate damage. This incident remains under investigation.

On 7 Dec 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans responded to the death of an eighty-four year old Marietta woman. The death appears to be due to natural causes, no foul play is suspected.

On 7 Dec 04 a motorist advised Deputy Sheriff Spencer of a possible motorist in need at the intersection of Barnett Ridge Road and State Route 550. Deputy Spencer located the vehicle and upon inspection, noticed the vehicle running, in gear, with the driver passed out at the wheel. After spending five minutes waking the driver, Deputy Spencer administered field sobriety tests on Steven K. Pinkerman, age 36, 2202 Pride Avenue, Belpre. Mr. Pinkerman could hardly stand as he performed poorly on the tests, was arrested for OVI and parking in the roadway and transported him to the Washington County Jail. A subsequent search of Mr. Pinkerman yielded two marijuana cigarettes resulting in an additional charge of possession of drugs.

On 7 Dec 04 an employee of Arrow Concrete, PO Box 4336, Parkersburg, reported a local man has ignored repeated requests to pay for $2,398 of concrete delivered to a site on State Route 821 in Whipple. This case remains under investigation (500).

On 7 Dec 04 Leon Crites, age 55, 560 Eyermann Road, Belpre, reported two neighbors who were previously ordered to stay off his property, trespassed in their vehicle on 2 Dec 04. This case remains under investigation (945).

On 7 Dec 04 Michael D. Blind, age 25, Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, an inmate at the Washington County Jail, reported after a brief confrontation with another inmate concerning the theft of Little Debbie Nutty Bars, the other inmate punched him in the face. This case remains under investigation (232).

On 7 Dec 04 Thomas C. Donahue, age 62, 325 Flint Run Road, Waterford, reported his sixteen year old daughter, who only has a driver’s license learner’s permit, left the home with the family car without permission around midnight last night. This case remains under investigation (684).

On 7 Dec 04 Gina L. Batten, age 39, 11390 State Route 26, Marietta, reported on a number of occasions since the first of this month, an unknown suspect has trespassed onto her property, entered a barn and turned on the barn’s interior lights. This case remains under investigation (597).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Scott Alan Roberts, age 33, 824 Lakeview Estates Apt. 406C, Parkersburg, for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel, both misdemeanors. Roberts was arrested in Belpre by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Dec 04 at 3:50 am.

Steven Brett Pinkerman, age 36, 2202 Pride Avenue, Belpre, for .08 breath OVI, possession of drugs and for parking in the roadway, all misdemeanors. Pinkerman was arrested near the intersection of on State Route 550 and County Road 2 by Deputy Sheriff Eddy and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Dec 04 at 7:00 pm.
