On 2 Dec 04 Eric C. Kofod, age 47, 190 Arends
Ridge Road, Marietta, reported while he was in the hospital
for three days beginning on 29 Nov, a fifty dollar gift certificate
to Land’s End was stolen off his kitchen table. This
case remains under investigation (200).
On 2 Dec 04 an employee of Par Mar 14, 66
Arrowhead Drive, Little Hocking, reported witnessing a white
male stuffing five DVD movies down his pants and leaving the
store without paying for them. The employee then saw the suspect
enter a vehicle with two women and depart westbound on US 50.
A vehicle matching the same description was stopped by the
Athens Police Department in connection with a string of thefts
in that locale and William A. Murphy, age 33, 208 Maple Street,
Marietta, was arrested and the five stolen DVD’s recovered.

Office received the following warrantS:
Amy S. Farnsworth, age 18, 122 Harmar Street,
Marietta, for receiving stolen property on 13 Sep 04 and for
failing to appear for a scheduled probation violation hearing
on 17 Nov 04.
Rodney R. Moore, age 24, 121 Wells Avenue,
Marietta, for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered
hearing on 24 Nov 04 upon a pending indictment for burglary.
Kathy R. Harner, age 35, 2005 ½ Washington
Boulevard Apt. 2, Belpre, for violating the terms of her probation
by failing to appear for a scheduled appointment on 17 Nov
04.
Amanda M. Chestnut, age 37, 705 Fountain Square Apt. 5, Zanesville,
for breach of recognizance for failing to appear for a jury
trial on 23 Nov 04.
William A. Murphy III, age 33, 208 Maple Street, Marietta,
for the theft of five DVD videos on 2 Dec 04.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Sonya Lee Weaver, age 18, 420 Gladstone Street,
Parkersburg, for .08 breath OVI, for driving under a suspended
license and for parking in the roadway, all misdemeanors. Weaver
was arrested on State Route 550 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Dec 04 at
4:19 am.
John Aaron Givens, age 23, 100 Linwood Avenue
Lot B, Marietta, for violating the terms of his parole, a felony.
Givens was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Warden of the
Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 2 Dec 04 at 5:30 pm.
James Grimm Janes Sr., age 53, 422 Main Street, Lowell, for
violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Janes
was arrested in the vicinity of Township 32 in Lowell by Deputy
Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 2 Dec 04 at 7:10 pm.
James Lee Mowery, age 45, 800 Sixth Avenue, Lancaster, OH,
for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Mowery
was picked up in Fairfield County by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Dec
04 at 7:30 pm.
Thomas Eugene Malone Sr., age 26, 308 Main
Street, Lowell, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor.
Malone was arrested
on Fourth Street by Lt. Huffer of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Dec
04 at 8:50 pm.
