On 17 Nov 04 the vice principal of the Washington
County Career Center, 21740 State Route 676, Marietta, reported
finding two students in possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputy
Sheriff Spencer continues to investigate student’s claim
that he found the smoking pipe in the parking lot.
On 17 Nov 04 Detective Johnson, Lt. Huffer
and Deputy Sheriff Spencer were dispatched to 11827 State Route
555, Cutler, in response to a domestic disturbance. Amber L.
Best, age 25, 1370 Patten Mills Road, Cutler, informed Deputy
Spencer she was visiting her former boyfriend’s sister
at the aforementioned address when her ex-boyfriend materialized
outside the home. Christopher S. Hill, age 33, 857 Southland
Cemetery Road, Cutler, against whom Ms. Best has a protection
order, began pounding on the door and attempting to force his
way through the door. While en route Detective Johnson observed
a vehicle matching that of Mr. Hill’s northbound on State
Route 555. Detective Johnson began to initiate a traffic stop
but Mr. Hill led a low speed chase along numerous roads before
pulling into the driveway at the residence he shares with his
parents. Corroborating witness statements, the Deputies placed
a less than cooperative Mr. Hill under arrest and forced him
from his house while he commenced making threatening statements
to the arresting officers. Mr. Hill was charged with two counts
of driving under an FRA suspended license, failure to comply
with the order/signal of an officer, resisting arrest and violating
a court ordered protection order and transported to the Washington
County Jail where he is being held without bond.
On 17 Nov 04 Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier responded
to the home of a Bartlett man who, subsequent to an argument
with his wife, was brandishing a firearm and threatening to
harm himself. Deputy Brockmeier secured the weapon and transported
the individual to Marietta Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Joshua Thomas Bailey, age 19, 83 Watson Lane,
Belpre, for a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon
and misdemeanor charges of driving under a suspended license,
for having fictitious registration, for parking with an expired
registration and for failure to appear. Bailey was arrested
in Belpre by Patrolman Morris of the Belpre City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Nov 04
at 1:20 pm.
Michael Shane Porter, age 30, 303 Henderson
Street, Henderson, WV, for failure to appear, a felony. Porter
was arrested at
the Washington County Courthouse by Deputy Sheriff Sears and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Nov 04 at 1:20
pm.
Christopher Shawn Hill, age 33, 857 Southland
Cemetery Road, Cutler, for two counts of driving under an FRA
suspended license,
for failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer,
for resisting arrest and for violating a court ordered protection
order, all misdemeanors. Hill was arrested on State Route 555
by Detective Johnson of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17
Nov 04 at 5:00 pm.
Willis Virgil Thompson, age 28, 155 Sunset Drive, Marietta,
for driving under an FRA suspended license, for failure to
reinstate his operator’s license and for failure to appear,
all misdemeanors. Thompson was arrested on State Route 7 by
the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 17 Nov 04 at 10:20 pm.
