On 6 Nov 04 Deputy Sheriff Norman investigated a two vehicle collision on a private driveway near Lang’s Flooring. Alex Schilling, age 20, 2779 Waterford Road, Marietta, was operating a John Deere tractor pulling a piece of farm equipment when he sideswiped a camper owned by James B. Wriston, 1265 County House Lane, Marietta. Both vehicles sustained light damage.

On 6 Nov 04 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes issued a citation to Gaylord E. Hull, age 35, 503 C1 Benwood Hill Road, Benwood, WV, for traveling 65 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Rhodes stopped Mr. Hull on near mile post forty-eight on State Route 7 in Grandview Township.

On 6 Nov 04 Bobby J. Davis, age 25, 1165 Reed Road, Marietta, reported between 5:30 pm and 11:30 pm the previous evening, the rear window to his home was broken out, his trailer entered and two rifles stolen. This case remains under investigation (296).

On 6 Nov 04 Deputy Sheriffs Eddy and Malone responded to a report of domestic violence at 610 Main Street in Waterford. The complainant, Stephanie Rutter, age 22, was generally uncooperative but admitted to Deputy Eddy that her live-in boyfriend William Carter, age 20, struck her in the face two days prior when she confronted him about his amorous exploits with another woman. Determining Ms. Rutter was in fear for her safety, Deputy Malone arrested Mr. Carter for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 6 Nov 04 Ruth Modisitt, age 27, 2184 Sandhill Road, Marietta, reported when she and her husband returned to their home after being away for ten hours they discovered an unknown suspect(s) attempted to pry open the rear door of their residence in an ill-fated attempt to gain entry. This case remains under investigation (586).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

William Joseph Carter, age 20, 610 Main Street, Waterford, for a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation and a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence. Carter was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Nov 04 at 4:35 pm.

Timmy Wayne Tucker, age 46, 827 Belrock Avenue, Belpre, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Tucker was arrested on Nutter Avenue in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Stackpole and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Nov 04 at 5:00 pm.

Brian Lee Miller, age 39, 815 Fifth Street, Marietta, for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Miller was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Hupp of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Nov 04 at 6:40 pm.

Curt E. Hendershot, age 33, 2030 Armstrong Ridge Road, New Matamoras, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Hendershot was arrested at Parkway Townhouses in New Matamoras by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 Nov 04 at 10:45 pm.
