On 31 Oct 04 Deputy Sheriff Eddy investigated
a hit-skip collision at 4433 State Route 676, Stockport. A
red Chevy two door owned by Ed Nesselroad, 4350 State Route
78E, McConnelsville, was parked off the side of a private drive
during a gathering at the residence. When the sixteen year
old driver returned to the vehicle she discovered damage to
the front driver’s side of her vehicle where a white
vehicle apparently backed into it causing light damage. This
incident remains under investigation.
On 31 Oct 04 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes responded
to the scene of a domestic dispute at the home of Melody A.
Keene, age 50, 712 Front Street Apt. B, New Matamoras. Ms.
Keene stated her live-in boyfriend John R. Creighton Jr., age
49, became enraged during an argument, threw a beer can at
her, grabbed her by the shoulders and threw her to the floor.
Mr. Creighton then poured cleaning solution on her and kicked
her in the head before fleeing the residence with his cellular
phone. As a result Deputy Rhodes requested a warrant for the
arrest of Mr. Creighton for domestic violence.
On 31 Oct 04 an employee of Waterford Commercial
and Savings Bank reported an unknown suspect(s) broke through
the glass at the entrance of the business and rummage through
several tellers’ drawers. The suspect(s) then exited
via the rear of the building without any stolen property. This
case remains under investigation (597).
On 31 Oct 04 George S. Joy, age 37, Charles
Street, Newport, reported between the hours of 11 am and 3
pm that day his Horton Max Impact crossbow may have been stolen
from his home. This case remains under investigation (107).
On 31 Oct 04 an employee of Marietta Transfer,
1201 County House Lane, Marietta, reported four trucks parked
at the business were entered and their CB radios removed. This
case remains under investigation (107).
On 31 Oct 04 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole responded
to the report of the death of an eighty year old Cutler resident.
Family members report the death was due to an extended illness,
no foul play is suspected.
On 31 Oct 04 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole issued
a citation to Brian M. George, age 22, 441 Westwood Drive,
Steubenville, OH, for traveling 102 mph in a 60 mph zone. Deputy
Stackpole stopped Mr. George on US 50 near Drag Strip Road
in Belpre Township.
On 31 Oct 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans issued a
citation to Brian D. Toler, age 20, 1550 Dalton Road, Pittsburgh,
PA, for traveling 65 mph in a 50 mph zone. Deputy Evans stopped
Mr. Toler on US 50 near Braun Road in Belpre Township.
On 31 Oct 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans issued a
citation to William C. Burchstein, age 18, 3427 East Fairfax,
Cleveland Heights, OH, for traveling 69 mph in a 50 mph zone.
Deputy Evans stopped Mr. Burchstein on US 50 near Braun Road
in Belpre Township.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Robert Dale Jordan, age 66, 1305 Dr. Judy
Road, Parkersburg, for .08 breath OVI and for driving outside
the marked lanes of travel, both misdemeanors. Jordan was arrested
on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 31 Oct 04 at 2:25 am.
Ronald Dean Miller, age 22, 1906 29th Street
Apt. 11, Parkersburg, for telephone harassment, a misdemeanor.
Miller was arrested
near the Athens County Line by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 31 Oct 04 at 12:45 pm.
Carmen Richard Stavole, age 24, 2620 Amelia Drive, Broadview
Heights, OH, for driving under suspension and for speeding,
both misdemeanors. Stavole was arrested by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31
Oct 04 at 4:00 pm.
John Robert Creighton, age 49, 514 Third Street,
New Matamoras, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Creighton
was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 31 Oct 04 at 7:00 pm.
Michael Dean Miller, age 49, 1101 Cisler Lane,
Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Miller
was arrested on Washington Street in Marietta by Patrolman
Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the
Washington County Jail on 31 Oct 04 at 8:22 pm.
Robert Eugene Campbell, age 56, Central Lane
Apt. 29, Parkersburg, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor.
Campbell was arrested
in Beverly by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 31 Oct 04 at 10:30 pm.
