On 30 Oct 04 Lt. Wilson initiated a traffic
stop on US 50 in Little Hocking after observing an inoperable
license plate light on a westbound vehicle. Speaking with the
driver, Carl W. Begley, age 18, 1411 Chestnut Street, Dover,
OH, Lt. Wilson noticed an odor of marijuana on Mr. Begley and
his passenger Jameson M. Maybaugh, age 18, 1427 Chestnut Street,
Dover. A search of the Chevy Monte Carlo yielded a marijuana
pipe in the console belonging to Mr. Begley and a large water
pipe and a small quantity of marijuana Mr. Maybaugh admitted
belonged to him. Both men were arrested for possession of their
respective contraband and transported them to the Washington
County Jail.
On 30 Oct 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans responded
to the scene of an ATV rollover near Angle Road in Waterford
Township. The seventeen year old rider suffered minor injuries
and was transported Marietta Memorial Hospital by the Beverly-Waterford
Volunteer Fire Department.
On 30 Oct 04 Eben Hawkins, age 32, 1740 Payne
Hill Road, Lower Salem, reported between the afternoon of 28
Oct and the morning of 30 Oct, several suspects forcible entered
his home at 1575 Payne Hill Road and caused extensive damage.
Nearly every window and mirror in the home was broken, doors
and cabinets were torn from their hinges and a number of appliances
were destroyed. This case remains under investigation (296).
On 30 Oct 04 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes investigated
a deer-vehicle collision on Interstate 77, six tenths of a
mile south of mile post two. Tamara L. Gatton, age 48, 1120
Coal Run Road, Marietta, was southbound on Interstate 77 when
she struck a deer that bounded into the roadway from the west.
None of the passengers in Ms. Gatton’s Chevy Corsica
reported injuries in the collision that caused disabling damage
to the vehicle.
On 30 Oct 04 Sgt. Underwood was dispatched
to 122 Tennis Center Drive Apt. 31A, Marietta, in response
to the home’s resident threatening to harm herself. Upon
arrival Sgt. Underwood noticed Deborah E. Cooper, age 36, was
highly intoxicated and uncooperative. Once quelled, Sgt. Underwood
arrested Ms. Cooper for disorderly conduct by intoxication,
transported her to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment
of her self-inflicted injuries and once medically cleared,
processed into the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Robin Lynn Carter, age 38, 410 Maple Street,
Marietta, for felonious assault. Carter was on Green Street
in Marietta by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
30 Oct 04 at 12:48 am.
Joseph Lee Carpenter, age 19, 814 St Marys
Avenue, Marietta, for failing to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Carpenter was arrested on Washington
Street in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City
Police
Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Oct 04
at 1:10 am.

misdemeanor. Begley
was arrested on US 50 in Little Hocking by Lt. Wilson of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 30 Oct 04 at 3:34 am.
Jameson Michael Maybaugh, age 18, 1427 Chestnut
Street, Dover, OH, for possession of drugs and possession of
drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Maybaugh was arrested on US 50 in Little
Hocking by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30
Oct 04 at 3:34 am.
Ada Elizabeth Mayle, age 59, 201 State Street,
Marietta, for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines,
a misdemeanor. Mayle was arrested on Front Street in Marietta
by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 30 Oct 04 at 8:30 am.
