On 26 Oct 04 Brian S. Kesterson, age 43, Pine
Street Ext., Lubeck, WV, reported he was assaulted while he
and his girlfriend were watching a movie at her residence at
180 Caywood Road in Marietta. Mr. Kesterson stated the home’s
owner and his girlfriend’s former boyfriend David M.
Dunbar, age 36, began pounding on the door and burst inside
once the girlfriend opened it. Mr. Dunbar commenced threatening
Mr. Kesterson and as his anger reached a crescendo, began punching
Mr. Kesterson and tackled him to the floor. Mr. Kesterson escaped
the onslaught and fled the scene to report the incident. Subsequent
to requesting a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Dunbar for assault,
Mr. Dunbar turned himself in and was transported to the Washington
County Jail.
On 26 Oct 04 Sgt. Hiatt investigated a two
vehicle collision in the parking lot of National Muffler in
Marietta. Christopher F. Fisher, age 36, 157 South Fifth Street
Rear, McConnelsville, was in the process of turning left from
the parking lot onto Ellsworth Avenue pulling a load of tires
when the trailer struck the rear driver’s side fender
of a parked Dodge Durango owned by Jill R. Lukshin, 183 Orchard
Lane, Westerville, OH. Both vehicles sustained light damage
and were driven from the scene.
On 26 Oct 04 an employee of Miller’s
AM/PM, 1450 Arends Ridge Road, Marietta, reported the driver
of a white Ford Taurus with a West Virginia license plate drove
off without paying for twenty dollars in gasoline. This case
remains under investigation (500).
On 26 Oct 04 an employee of Casteel, 12355
State Route 7, Marietta, reported a member of a cleaning crew
witnessed two unidentified males rummaging through the main
office area. When one of the intruders noticed the cleaning
woman the two men exited the front of the building and fled
to the rear. No items appear to be missing. This case remains
under investigation (945).
On 26 Oct 04 an employee of Mason’s Hardware, 632 Main Street, Waterford,
reported a green Waterford Commercial Bank bag containing a cash deposit was
stolen from the counter of the store between 5 and 5:30 last evening. This
case remains under investigation (945).

Office received the following warrants:
Betty J. Kostka, age 51, 1655 Smith Road,
Vincent, for the theft of a Ford F150 from Family Ford on 8
Oct 04.
Mitchell Schull, age 36, 26129 State Route
7 Lot G, Marietta, for an assault perpetrated on 18 Sep 04.
Martin D. Welch, age 33, 2484 State Route 266, Stockport,
for two counts of theft for the theft of $3,290 in logs from
two Coolville residences on 8 Jul 04 and 1 Aug 04.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
David Michael Dunbar, age 36, 180 Caywood
Road, Marietta, for assault, a misdemeanor. Dunbar turned himself
in to Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Oct
04 at 2:45 am.
Jessica Ann Malone, age 22, 40 Hazelwood Road,
Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor.
Malone was arrested at her residence by Probation Officer Hamilton
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Oct 04
at 10:10 am.
Amy Suzzanne Farnsworth, age 18, 122 Harmar
Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation,
a misdemeanor. Farnsworth
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Oct 04 at 11:00
am.
Jason Eugene Barnes, age 28, 108 Seventh Street
Apt. A, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication and
for possessing an
open container of alcohol, both misdemeanors. Barnes was arrested
at Marietta College by Officer Moon of the Marietta College
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 26 Oct 04 at 9:40 pm.
