On 25 Oct 04 Deputy Sheriff Eddy responded
to the scene of an altercation at 847 Lynch Church Road in
Marietta. Jessica Wright, age 19, stated her friend Matthew
R. Jones, age 20, gave her money to purchase items at the store
and jokingly refused to return the money when asked. As Mr.
Jones attempted to forcefully remove the money from Ms. Wright’s
hand, Ms. Wright scratched him in the chest in attempt to force
Mr. Jones to release her. The resulting struggle caused the
two to became entangled and fall to the floor. Neither party
believed the other attempted to cause physical harm but the
two were issued summonses to appear in court for disorderly
conduct. When questioned concerning the odor of his breath,
Mr. Jones admitted consuming alcohol earlier in the evening.
Consequently, Deputy Sheriff Eddy arrested Mr. Jones for underage
consumption of alcohol and transported him to the Washington
County Jail.
On 25 Oct 04 an employee of Performance Auto
Center, 37 Burchette Alley, Waterford, reported after receiving
a check for work completed on a vehicle, the customer stopped
payment on the check. This case remains under investigation
(597).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Corey Trevor Smith, age 24, 1342 Welch Road,
Cutler, for driving under an FRA suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Smith was arrested at his residence by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25
Oct 04 at 1:10 am.
Joseph Cheyenne Clark, age 21, 852 Green Street
Apt. 2, Marietta, for safecracking, for tampering with a coin
operated machine and for a probation violation from another
state, all felonies. Clark was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman
Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 25 Oct 04 at 11:10 pm.
Matthew Robert Jones, age 20, 847 Lynch Church Road, Marietta,
for the underage consumption of alcohol and for disorderly
conduct by fighting, both misdemeanors. Jones was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 25 Oct 04 at 11:15 pm.
