On 21 Oct 04 Deputy Sheriff Gherke investigated
a two vehicle collision in the parking lot of IGA on State
Route 7 in Newport. Henry W. Sturm, age 55, Route 2 Box 455,
St Marys, was driving his Nissan Pathfinder examining flood
damage to several trailers north of the parking lot when he
sideswiped a parked Toyota Tercel occupied by Nicholas E. Watson,
age 36, 34 Riverview Estates, St. Marys. Both vehicles sustained
light damage and were driven from the scene.
On 21 Oct 04 Lt. Wilson issued a citation
to Deloris F. Lowers, age 50, 1515 Kennedy Road, Cutler, for
operating a vehicle with an inoperable license plate light.
Lt. Wilson stopped Ms. Lowers near mile post six on State Route
339 in Barlow Township.
On 21 Oct 04 Deputy Sheriff Malone issued
a citation to Jeremy Wolfe, 615 Dana Road, Newport, for failure
to obey a traffic control device. Deputy Malone stopped Mr.
Wolfe after he failed to stop when turning from Masonic Park
Road onto State Route 60 in Muskingum Township.
On 21 Oct 04 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole issued
a citation to Andrew A. Daniel, age 24, 29250 Murphy Road,
Coolville, for failure to register. Deputy Stackpole initiated
the traffic stop on US 50 near Farson Street in Belpre after
noticing Mr. Daniel’s license plate tag was expired.
On 21 Oct 04 a resident reported a local individual
has been stalking her and her family for the past several years,
in violation of a court ordered protection order. This case
remains under investigation (1071).
On 21 Oct 04 a thirty-seven year old St Marys
resident reported when he confronted his seventeen year old
daughter about drinking alcohol at a residence in Newport,
she allegedly flew into a rage and began punching and scratching
him. This case remains under investigation (586).
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
Dale D. Goddard, age 39, 734 North Seventh
Street, Marietta, for failing to appear for a debtor’s
exam on 16 Jun 04.
Robert E. Carpenter, age 30, 2020 Bear Run Road, Reno, for
driving under a suspended license on 12 Jun 04.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Andrew Bryant Tucker, age 21, 202 Walnut Drive,
Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines and for possession of drug paraphernalia, both
misdemeanors. Tucker was arrested at Southgate Trailer Park
by Deputy Sheriff Gherke and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 21 Oct 04 at 2:20 pm.
Justin Allen Tucker, age 22, 112 Maple Street Apt. 2, Marietta,
for theft, a misdemeanor. Tucker was arrested in Marietta by
Lt. Canavan of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Oct 04
at 3:45 pm.
