On 3 Oct 04 Jeremy A. Pierce, age 20, 201 Franklin Drive, Little Hocking, reported between 28 Sep and 3 Oct, two hundred dollars was stolen from a locked safe in his home. This case remains under investigation (1203).

On 3 Oct 04 William S. Biehl, age 30, 116 Westchester Drive, Marietta, reported a family in possession of his computer refuses to give it back. This case remains under investigation (1203).

On 3 Oct 04 Deputy Sheriff Malone responded to the scene of a domestic dispute at 2630 State Route 676 in Stockport. Upon arrival Deputy Malone spoke with an uncooperative Angela Gillespie, age 27, who stated she and her husband were wrestling but refused to elaborate how she incurred a cut and a bump on her head. James D. Gillespie, age 34, stated he and his wife had an argument and had been wrestling around the home but denied causing his wife any physical harm. Based on his investigation Deputy Malone arrested Mr. Gillespie for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 3 Oct 04 Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier investigated a hit-skip collision in the parking lot of the Devola football field on Devol’s Dam Road. The driver of an unknown vehicle struck the passenger side sliding door, rear fender and bumper of a 1998 Plymouth Voyager owned by Gina L. Tucker, 9720 State Route 821, Whipple, before fleeing the scene. Ms. Tucker’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. This incident remains under investigation.

On 3 Oct 04 Deputy Sheriffs responded to the scene of the death of a thirty-four year old Marietta man. The death appears to be due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, no foul play is suspected. This case remains under investigation (296).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

James Donald Gillespie, age 34, 2630 State Route 676, Stockport, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Gillespie was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Eddy and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Oct 04 at 6:05 am.

Robert Vaughn Miller, age 27, 321 Lyndon Road, Coolville, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Miller was arrested on Washington Boulevard in Belpre by Patrolman Morris of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Oct 04 at 5:45 pm.

Deborah Renee Elkins, age 36, 46 Pomeroy Road, Athens, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor. Elkins was arrested neat the Athens county line Belpre by Patrolman Davis of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Oct 04 at 8:10 pm.
