On 1 Oct 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins was dispatched to the home of Evelyn J. Athey, age 37, 270 Green Street, Newport, in response to a domestic dispute. Ms. Athey stated that during an argument her live-in boyfriend Duane F. Perdue Jr., age 45, pushed her up against the wall and choked her with one hand. A witness validated Ms. Athey’s account and Deputy Mankins arrested Mr. Purdue for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 1 Oct 04 Juda A. Coleman, age 58, 26115 State Route 7, Marietta, reported jewelry, collectibles, house wares and computer software were stolen from her and her neighbors at the Buckeye Trailer Park as they moved their belongings outside to clean their flooded homes. Zannie U. Shull, age 29, also reported her Toyota SUV was moved without her permission and found stuck in the mud in a ditch. This case remains under investigation (200).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Michael Monroe McManus, age 32, 412 Washington Street, Marietta, for forgery, a felony. McManus was arrested at his residence by Detective Nohe of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Oct 04 at 1:39 pm.

Brian Keith Doverspike, age 25, 1179 Michael Street, Deltona, FL, for a felony charge of being a fugitive from justice and misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, falsification, for not wearing a seat belt and for driving outside the marked Lanes of travel. Doverspike was arrested on Timberline Drive by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Oct 04 at 5:00 pm.

Ashley Dawn Reed, age 19, 42 Kennebec Avenue, McConnellsville, for offenses as a juvenile, a misdemeanor. Reed was arrested at the Morgan County Line by Lt. Huffer of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Oct 04 at 9:55 pm.
