On 14 Sep 04 a thirty year old Marietta man reported receiving harassing phone calls during the past two days. This case remains under investigation (695).

On 14 Sep 04 Deputy Sheriff Norman investigated a two-vehicle collision in the parking lot of 851 State Route 7, Marietta. Driving a 1991 Chevy Corsica, John D. Heldman, age 26, 1348 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, was pulling out from a parking stall when he struck the driver’s side door of a 2003 Toyota Corolla driven by Matthew H. Minton, age 37, 914 Nash Avenue, Williamstown. Both vehicles sustained light damage.

On 14 Sep 04 an employee of Kapple Automotive, 905 Washington Boulevard, Belpre, reported the business received a bad check for $425 on 5 Aug 04. This case remains under investigation (8411).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

William Arthur Murphy III, age 33, 208 Maple Street, Marietta, for theft, a misdemeanor. Murphy was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Ritchie of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Sep 04 at 9:35 am.

Billy Edward Moore, age 42, 1003 Main Street Apt. 3,, Ravenna, OH, for violating the terms of his probation and for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, both misdemeanors. Moore was picked up at Portage County Jail by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Sep 04 at 5:22 pm.
