On 12 Sep 04 the owner of Oxbow Golf Course,
St. Andrews Boulevard, Belpre, reported between midnight and
8 am Sunday morning, several unknown suspects damage the greens
to holes two, five and seven. Sustained damage includes bike
tire tracks and donuts, boot heel marks and gouge marks. This
case remains under investigation (500).
On 12 Sep 04 Sgt. Underwood began an investigation
into a domestic dispute between Tammy S. Mayle, age 41, 1206
Drag Strip Road, Belpre, and her estranged husband Argle, age
43. Mrs. Mayle, who was receiving treatment for her injuries,
stated she and her husband were swimming and as she attempted
to exit the water Mr. Mayle would push her back in. Once after
being pushed she suffered a cut on her leg. The two left the
pond and Mr. Mayle began threatening his wife and daughter
regarding pending charges against him in Washington County
and in Parkersburg, WV. Accordingly, Sgt. Underwood arrested
Mr. Mayle for of intimidation of a witness, domestic violence
and for violating the terms of a protection order and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.
On 12 Sep 04 Deputy Sheriff Simmons responded
to the home of an attempted suicide at a forty-three year old’s
New Matamoras residence. The individual was transported to
Selby General Hospital for treatment and evaluation.
On 12 Sep 04 Deputy Sheriff Gherke responded
to the scene of a domestic dispute on King Avenue in Cutler.
The mother of a fourteen year old reported her daughter punched,
slapped and threatened her after she was forbidden to leave
the residence. Determining the mother was in fear for her safety,
Deputy Gherke arrested the fourteen year old and transported
her to the Washington County Juvenile Detention Center.
On 12 Sep 04 Deputy Sheriff Gherke was dispatched
to the scene of the death of a sixty-seven year old New Matamoras
man. No foul play is suspected, the death appears to be due
to natural causes.
On 12 Sep 04 Christina J. Ward, age 27, Lot
3 Hickory Lane, New Matamoras, reported three weeks ago an
acquaintance, against whom she has a protection order, drove
into the trailer park near her home. This case remains under
investigation (200).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Argle Francis Mayle II, age 43, 1206 Drag
Strip Road, Belpre, for a felony charge of intimidation of
a witness and for misdemeanor charges of domestic violence
and for violating the terms of a protection order. Mayle was
arrested
on Mill
Branch Road in Belpre by Sgt. Underwood of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 12 Sep 04 at 4:10 pm.
Larry Eugene Sparks, age 48, 314 Harmar Street, Marietta,
for driving under an FRA suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Sparks was arrested on Front Street in Marietta by Patrolman
Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 12 Sep 04 at 5:20 pm.
Ruby May Buffington, age 22, 36796 Hill Street, Lower Salem,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Buffington was arrested on State Route
7 by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 12 Sep 04 at 6:30 pm.
