On 10 Sep 04 Deputy Sheriff Spencer investigated
a single vehicle collision near mile marker six on State Route
26 in Lawrence Township. Kenneth A. Holland, age 60, 34984
Merrill Ridge Road, Rinard Mills, and his wife were traveling
southbound on State Route 26 when Mr. Holland encountered a
two inch thick covering of mud on the roadway. Mr. Holland
then lost control of his Ford truck, spun ninety degrees across
the road, struck a high water sign, spinning two hundred-seventy
degrees and coming to rest on the bank of a rain-swollen Little
Muskingum River. Mr. Holland and his wife were uninjured and
though his truck sustained moderate damage it was driven from
the scene.
On 10 Sep 04 the mother of a fifteen year
old Caldwell High School student reported a student threatened
her daughter while the two were riding the school bus en route
to school on 8 Sep 04. This case remains under investigation
(232).
On 10 Sep 04 Charles Becker, age 43, 1776
Mitchell’s Lane, Marietta, reported an unknown suspect(s)
entered his daughter’s room through a window, rummaged
through her belongings and left the room in a state of disarray.
This case remains under investigation (586).
On 10 Sep 04 a twenty-seven year old Belpre
resident reported an acquaintance continues to make harassing
phone calls after being asked to cease doing so. This case
remains under investigation (597).
On 10 Sep 04 Daniel Ramsey, age 76, 3074 Turner
Road, Belpre, reported between 7:30 pm on 8 Sep and 2 pm on
10 Sep, an unknown suspect(s) broke a window to gain entry
in his home. It is unknown if any property is missing at this
time. This case remains under investigation (1090, 602).
On 10 Sep 04 Deputies were dispatched to Selby
Hospital where Joe Chesnutt, age 40, 12020 Waterford Road,
Waterford, and his wife were receiving treatment for injuries
suffered during an assault. After being forbidden from the
residence by their step-father and mother, Jonas W. Miller,
age 22, 207 Aurora Street Apt. C, Marietta, and his seventeen
year old brother burst into their mother’s home at 2:30
am that morning. The duo began attacking Mr. Chesnutt with
a golf club and baseball bat, also injuring their mother as
she tried to intervene. As a result of the attack Detective
Schuck requested warrants for the juvenile on delinquency charges
and for Mr. Miller for felonious assault and burglary. Lt Wilson
located the juvenile, arrested him and transported him to the
Washington County Juvenile Detention Center while the elder
Miller remains at large (586, 905).
On 10 Sep 04 a passerby reported a window
was broken out of the front door to the USDA Service Center
building at 21330 State Route 676, Marietta. This case remains
under investigation (1203).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Don Robert Coiner, age 33, 212 Apple Blossom
Way, Elizabeth, WV, for possession of drugs, a felony. Coiner
was arrested on Main Street in Belpre by Patrolman Morris of
the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 10 Sep 04 at 2:20 am.
Jesse David Patterson, age 18, 104 Brandy Drive, Reno, for
obstructing official business, criminal trespassing and for
three counts of assault, all misdemeanors. Patterson was arrested
on Dawes Circle in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 10 Sep 04 at 6:00 am.
Todd Royal Wilson, age 41, 12827 Maysville/Williams
Road, Logan, OH, for failure to comply with the order or signal
of an officer, a felony. Wilson was picked up at the Noble
County Correctional Facility by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Sep 04
at 9:33 am.
Christopher Henderson, age 25, 826 Fifth Street, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Henderson
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Hamilton and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Sep 04 at 10:45
am.
Waylon Franklin McCune, age 30, 1119 12th Street, Parkersburg,
for operating without a license and for speeding, both misdemeanors.
McCune was picked up in Nelsonville by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Sep 04
at 12:50 pm.
Brandon Paul Lincoln, age 18, 309 Lord Street, Marietta, for
felonious assault and for misdemeanor charges of assault, criminal
trespassing and complicity. Lincoln was arrested at Marietta
High School by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
10 Sep 04 at 3:55 pm.
