On 8 Sep 04 an employee of Poynter’s Best Products, 18607 State Route 7, Marietta, reported the business received a bad check for $1,500 on 16 Jul 04. This case remains under investigation (8411).

On 8 Sep 04 Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier met with Tammy S. Mayle, age 41, 1206 Drag Strip Road, Belpre, in response to a domestic dispute that transpired two days prior. Mrs. Mayle stated on Labor Day her husband Argle, age 43, became upset that she lost a tow strap from his truck and began chiding her and incessantly hitting her in the ribs, abdomen and legs. Determining Mrs. Mayle was in fear for her safety, Deputy Brockmeier requested a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Mayle, who was later arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 8 Sep 04 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole was dispatched to R&R Rebuilders at 105 River Road in response to the report of an employee acting strange. Another employee stated that she saw John L. Clark, age 33, 1685 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, talking to people who weren’t there and lying dangerously on an air compressor with exposed moving parts. Deputy Stackpole witnessed Mr. Clark holding a trash can against the wall and in questioning Mr. Clark noticed his slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. During a pat down search Deputy Stackpole found a metal spoon with burn marks and residue on it, which Mr. Clark admitted he used to inject what he believed to be heroin prior to his arrival at work. After being medically checked for acceptance into jail, Deputy Stackpole arrested Mr. Clark for drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and for disorderly conduct by intoxication and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 8 Sep 04 Deputy Sheriff Malone responded to the report of the death of a sixty-eight year old Newport woman. The death appears to be due to natural causes, no foul play is suspected.

On 8 Sep 04 Lilly M. Welch, age 84, 30 West High Street, Little Hocking, reported her husband, who has Alzheimer’s, slapped her. This case remains under investigation (500).

On 8 Sep 04 a Corrections Officer at the Washington County Jail reported an inmate, angered at the lack of food, repeatedly slammed the door to his living quarters against the door stop, causing damage. This case remains under investigation (490).

Larry E. Sparks, age 48, 732 Second Street, Marietta, for an assault perpetrated at the intersection of Second and Montgomery Streets in Marietta on 15 Jul 04.

Ronnie D. Goad, age 30, PO Box 344, Lowell, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $226.20.

Rex A. Goodsite, age 33, 1520 Orange Road Lot 101, Ashland, OH, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $182.

Jacquelyn Hairston, age 51, 6573 San Miguel Place, Columbus, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $299.

John Leonard Clark, age 33, 1685 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, for as felony charge of drug possession and misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and for disorderly conduct by intoxication. Clark was arrested at his workplace by Deputy Sheriff Stackpole and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Sep 04 at 12:05 pm.

Michelle Rae Oldfield, age 37, 123 Ward Street Lot 1, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Oldfield was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Sep 04 at 5:10 pm.

Krystal Michelle Lincoln, age 40, 729 Ninth Street, Marietta, for driving under an FRA suspended license, a misdemeanor. Lincoln was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Sep 04 at 7:52 pm.

Paul Alan Lincoln, age 39, 729 Ninth Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Lincoln was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Sep 04 at 7:52 pm.
