On 30 Aug 04 Tami S. Culbertson, age 25, 124
Tennis Center Drive Apt. 1A, Marietta, reported between 7 am
and 10 pm Monday evening, an unknown suspect entered her locked
residence and stole an X-box and approximately twenty-five
games. This case remains under investigation (1091).
On 30 Aug 04 Claire Knolle, age 44, 175 Collins
Road, Macksburg, reported that around 11:30 pm that evening,
an unknown suspect set fire to her mailbox. This case remains
under investigation (1091).
On 30 Aug 04 an employee of Newport IGA on
State Route 7 in Newport reported the business cashed a payroll
check only to find later the account from which the check was
drawn has been closed. This case remains under investigation
(690).
On 30 Aug 04 Deputy Sheriff Gherke responded
to a domestic violence complaint at the home of Megan L. Rose,
age 32, 10 Browns Road Apt. 2B, Marietta. Ms. Rose stated when
her husband Timothy A. Hall, age 32, returned home from a meeting
he started an argument over the laundry. Tired of being yelled
at, Ms. Rose began packing up Mr. Hall’s clothing. While
she was holding a bag of clothes, Mr. Hall pushed her in the
chest, causing her to fall back against the wall and drop the
clothes. Mr. Hall then walked down the stairs and made threatening
statements before leaving the residence. Determining Ms. Rose
was in fear for her safety, Deputy Gherke requested a warrant
for the arrest of Mr. Hall for felony domestic violence for
having previously being convicted of the offense in 1997 (792).
On 30 Aug 04 Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier responded
to a 911 call from a woman threatening to shoot herself at
the Belrock Cemetery in Belpre. The woman was transported to
Marietta Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment (684).
On 30 Aug 04 Deputy Sheriff Gherke investigated
a hit-skip collision at 20370 State Route 60 in Beverly. Witnesses
stated Dawn Vaughn-Rex, age 30, Pennock Trailer Court Lot 3,
Beverly, was driving her Ford Ranger erratically down the driveway
of several residences toward State Route 60 when she sideswiped
the passenger side of a parked Pontiac Grand Am owned by Jason
I. Blind, 20370 State Route 60, Beverly. Ms. Rex then fled
the scene after causing moderate damage to both vehicles.
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
Valerie A. Caplinger, age 35, 776 Luke Chute
Road, Waterford, charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication
on 2 Aug 04.
Michael C. Totman, age 41, 3470 Highland Ridge Road, Lowell,
for owning a dog not constantly confined a registered kennel
and for failing to require his dog to wear a registration tag.
Douglas W. Crooks II, age 24, 117 Woodrow Street, Marietta,
for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on an order to show cause.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Brian Gregory Kesling, age 25, State Route 20,
Buchannon, WV, for driving under a suspended license, speeding
and for not wearing a seatbelt, all misdemeanors. Kesling was
arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Aug 04
at 12:20 am.
Tracy Leanne Wilson, age 36, 511 Mission Road,
Amesville, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor. Wilson
turned herself in to Deputy Sheriff Norman and was processed
into the Washington County Jail on 30 Aug 04 at 10:58 am.
William Eugene O’Brien, age 40, Warner Second Street,
Lower Salem, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. O’Brien was on Second
Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 30 Aug 04 at 1:25 pm.
