On 29 Aug 04 Mark R. Menke, age 53, 65 Forshey
Road, Marietta, reported his eighty year old father left a
relative’s home at 6 pm and had yet to return to their
residence. The father returned an hour and a half later (1184).
At 5:30 am on 29 Aug 04 Conrad A. Mace, age
67, 17730 County Nine Road, New Matamoras, reported witnessing
a suspect wearing a white t-shirt and jeans stealing his Ford
Ranger from his driveway. While en route to Mr. Mace’s
residence, Deputy Sheriff Rhodes was informed that Sgt. Hiatt
located the truck abandoned near milepost two on Leith Run
Road. The two Deputies then proceeded to Mace residence but
stopped when they observed two males at the intersection of
County Nine and Leith Run Roads attempting to pull a Ford Escort
from a ditch near the intersection. As he questioned a shirtless
suspect wearing jeans and smelling of alcohol, Sgt. Hiatt noticed
a wet white t-shirt in the back seat of the Escort. After speaking
with other male at the scene Deputy Rhodes arrested Joshua
I. Bills, age 21, 4230 Zion Ridge Road, Marietta, for auto
theft and was identified by Mr. Mace as the person who stole
his truck. While in transport to the Washington County Jail,
Mr. Bills denied taking the truck but admitted driving the
Escort. Hearing that, Deputy Rhodes additionally charged Mr.
Bills with OVI and driving under a suspended license.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Michael Dennis Colyer, age 32, 101 Muskingum
Drive, Marietta, for obstructing official business, resisting
arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and for disorderly
conduct by intoxication, all misdemeanors. Colyer was arrested
at the Four Seasons in Marietta by Patrolman Sury of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 29 Aug 04 at 1:30 am.
Jeffrey Dale Bowden, age 47, 5575 Adamsville Otsego Road,
Amesville, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Bowden was in Marietta by
the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 29 Aug 04 at 3:10 am.
Joshua Isaac Bills, age 21, 4230 Zion Ridge Road, Marietta,
for a felony charge of auto theft and misdemeanor charges of
OVI and driving under an FRA suspended license. Bills was arrested
on Leith Run Road by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 29 Aug 04 at 7:50 am.
Rodreigez Sentele Tanner, age 24, 342 11th Avenue, Columbus,
for felony charges of trafficking in drugs and for tampering
with evidence. Tanner was arrested at the Lakeside Motel by
Detective Alkire of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Aug 04
at 8:45 am.
