On 24 Aug 04 Sgt. Underwood was dispatched
to the home of Joey D. Perry, age 24, 1161 Farson Street, Belpre,
in response to a domestic dispute. Mr. Perry stated his former
live-in girlfriend, Shelly N. Rhoades, age 19, 1107 Cisler
Lane, Marietta, came to the residence to obtain some property
she had there. Irate upon arrival, Ms. Rhoades began screaming,
charged toward the front door blocked by Mr. Perry and slapped
him across the face. Lt. Canavan later located Ms. Rhoades
at another residence, arrested her for domestic violence and
transported her into the Washington County Jail.
On 24 Aug 04 Sgt. Hiatt began an investigation
into several threatening statements, including a bomb threat,
left on two separate voice mails at Warren High School. A number
of employees of the school recognized the voice of the caller
leading Lt. Huffer and Sgt. Hiatt to speak with the suspect’s
mother. Listening to the recording, the mother confirmed the
voice was that of her son Walter R. Ayala, age 17, a former
student at Warren High School. With the mother’s permission
Sgt. Hiatt phoned Mr. Ayala at his current residence at 5421
East Fifth Avenue, Hialeah, FL, at which time he admitted leaving
the voicemails, but contended he was simply fooling around.
Consequently Sgt. Hiatt requested a summons for Mr. Ayala to
appear in juvenile court on delinquency charges, which will
be forwarded, to the appropriate governing agency in Florida.
On 24 Aug 04 a twenty-seven year old Malta
resident reported a friend, who is a resident of Washington
County, may have been sexually assaulted at a party earlier
that evening. After determining the location of the alleged
offense, Deputy Sheriff Simmons forwarded the report to the
Morgan County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation.
On 24 Aug 04 Chris Drayer, age 34, State Route
60, Beverly, reported an acquaintance may have stolen his wallet
containing five hundred dollars while visiting his residence
for a short time that morning. This case remains under investigation
(500).
On 24 Aug 04 Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier met
with the victim of a domestic dispute at Marietta Memorial
Hospital. The sixteen-year-old informed Deputy Brockmeier that
after a minor scuffle with his mother Lisa Norris, age 37,
she struck him in the chest three times with a crescent wrench
then punched him squarely in nose, breaking it. The mother
contradicts, saying her son was the primary aggressor of the
altercation. As a result of further investigation Deputy Brockmeier
arrested Ms. Norris for domestic violence and transported her
into the Washington County Jail where she was released on a
personal recognizance bond.
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
John A. Givens, age 23, 100B Linwood Avenue,
Marietta, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered
hearing on an order to show cause.
Steven L. Jones, age 45, 18012 Hiller Avenue, Cleveland, for
violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for
a scheduled appointment on 10 Aug 04.
Amanda F. Atkinson, age 28, 1013 18th Street, Vienna, WV,
for failing to appear to serve twenty-six days in jail on 16
Aug 04.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
James Michael Deems, age 22, 416 Franklin Street,
Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony.
Deems was arrested at the Townhouse by Probation Officer Gilchrist
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Aug 04
at 2:35 am.
Shelly Nicole Rhoades, age 19, 1107 Cisler Lane, Marietta,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Rhoades was arrested
on Green Hill Road in Marietta by Lt. Canavan of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 24 Aug 04 at 3:30 am.
Jeremy Deane Cutshaw, age 32, 101 Wilson Avenue,
Marietta, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Cutshaw was picked
up at Septa in Nelsonville, OH by Deputy Sheriff Underwood
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Aug 04
at 2:35 pm.
Ronald Edward McManes Jr., age 35, 9695 Haver Hill Road, Roseville,
OH, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. McManes
was picked up at the Regional Jail in Nelsonville by Probation
Officer Smith and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 24 Aug 04 at 2:35 pm.
Frank Lee Billy, age 23, 601 Mitchell Avenue Apt. B, Beverly,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Billy was arrested in Beverly by Patrolman
Evans of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 24 Aug 04 at 5:50 pm.
Lisa Ann Norris, age 37, 1360 State Route 676, Stockport,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Norris was arrested at
her residence by Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 24 Aug 04 at 7:11 pm.
James Christopher Brumley, age 18, 403 Lord Street Apt. A,
Marietta, for violating a court ordered protection order and
for violating the terms of his probation, both misdemeanors.
Brumley was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Mitchell
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 24 Aug 04 at 9:00 pm.
