On 21 Aug 04 Brian Lones, age 33, 1609 Hill Street, Belpre, reported while he was on duty in Iraq, his former girlfriend allegedly opened a bank account using false information and embezzled over two thousand dollars from him. This case remains under investigation (684).

On 21 Aug 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans was dispatched to the vicinity of mile marker ten on Interstate 77 in response to a report of an individual dashing in and out of traffic. When Deputy Evans arrived, Wayne M. Herzog, age 38, 144 Anthony Avenue, Clarksburg, WV, was laying on grassy slope near the roadway. Mr. Herzog’s wife stated her husband, highly intoxicated, was very agitated and jumped out of their vehicle as it was moving. Mr. Herzog continued his tirade toward Deputy Evans and Lt. Wilson and continuously resisted being handcuffed. Once apprehended Mr. Herzog would not stand on his own and bit Deputy Evan’s shoulder as he was forced into the back seat of the cruiser. Charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication, resisting arrest and assault on a peace officer, Mr. Herzog was transported to the Washington County Jail where he continued to be disorderly.

The following individual wAS processed into the Washington County Jail:

Wayne Matthew Herzog, age 38, 144 Anthony Avenue, Clarksburg, WV, for a felony charge of assaulting a peace officer and misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct by intoxication. Herzog was arrested near mile post ten on Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Aug 04 at 1:00 pm.
