On 19 Aug 04 Mary West, age 42, 405 Vickers
Road, Marietta, reported between midnight and 6 am on 19 Aug,
an unknown suspect(s) entered a storage building on her property
and stole a red Yamaha ATV. This case remains under investigation
(1203).
On 19 Aug 04 a thirty-five year old Newport
resident reported a visiting acquaintance may have stolen
a newly filled Xanax prescription from her home. When confronted
by the woman’s seventeen year old son, the acquaintance
fulminated against the juvenile and engaged in a pushing
match with the mother. This case remains under investigation
(1184).
On 19 Aug 04 William Lang, age 63, 775 Bramblewood
Heights Road, Marietta, reported between 26 Jul and 1 Aug an
unknown suspect used his long distance service without his
permission and amassed over a $400 bill in placing phone calls
to the United Kingdom. This case remains under investigation
(945).
On 19 Aug 04 several employees at a local
business reported they believe a coworker is digitally recording
their conversations without permission. This case remains under
investigation (586).
On 19 Aug 04 Ron Earley, age 41, 41803 Township
Road 817, New Matamoras, reported between 6 pm Wednesday and
8 am Thursday morning an unknown suspect(s) entered a storage
building and stole two fifteen inch Chevy wheels and rims before
damaging two windows and three tires on his truck and two tires
on its trailer. Mr. Earley further stated an unknown suspect(s)
forcibly entered a storage building on his mother’s farm
at 41905 Township Road 817 and stole a two pound sledge hammer.
This case remains under investigation (597).
On 19 Aug 04 a Vincent resident reported being
assaulted by an acquaintance. This case remains under investigation
(1090).
On 19 Aug 04 Roxie Mayle, age 32, 10965 State
Route 555, Cutler, reported after scolding her daughter’s
boyfriend for not picking up her granddaughter at the bus stop,
a friend of her daughter’s boyfriend attacked her. The
assailant punched Ms. Mayle in the eye, knocking her to the
ground and kicked her five to six times. This case remains
under investigation (1203).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Terry Lynn Newlen, age 42, 1308 Williamson Avenue
Apt. 4C, New Matamoras, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
Newlen was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Norman
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Aug 04
at 12:42 am.
William Lebern Hughes Jr., age 57, 1 Eighth Street, Belpre,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Hughes was arrested at
his residence by Patrolman Clevenger of the Belpre City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
19 Aug 04 at 1:00 am.
Shawn Lane Pierce, age 26, Dye Street PO Box
655, Newport, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Pierce was arrested at his residence by Lt. Coppernoll of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 19 Aug 04 at 3:00 am.
Michael Eric Hoffert, age 21, Marietta, for
failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines,
a misdemeanor. Hoffert was arrested at Speedway in Marietta
by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Aug 04
at 4:18 pm.
Jesse Lee Morgan, age 21, 6235 Zehman Drive, Brook Park, OH,
for contempt of a court order and for the illegal processing
of drug documents, both felonies. Morgan was picked up in Cuyahoga
County by Deputy Sheriff Farrell and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 19 Aug 04 at 8:59 pm.
