On 2 Aug 04 members of the Sheriff’s Office’s Detectives Bureau began an investigation into the death of a twenty-nine year old New Matamoras man. No foul play is suspected; the death appears to be due to natural causes. This case remains under investigation.

On 2 Aug 04 a forty-two year old Marietta resident reported receiving the harassing and threatening phone calls from an acquaintance. This case remains under investigation (232).

On 2 Aug 04 Tyra Gandy, age 21, 1515 Camp Hervida Road, Waterford, reported at 2 am that morning two of her roommates friends interrupted her slumber by banging on her window and launched a barrage of obscenities and threats. This case remains under investigation (597).

On 2 Aug 04 Steve V. Barnhart, age 50, 2610 Braun Road, Belpre, reported his ex-girlfriend may have taken the keys to his home and while he was absent for three hours that day, entered his home and stole $800 in cash, a DVD/VCR player, a digital camera and other miscellaneous items. This case remains under investigation (490).

On 2 Aug 04 an employee of Par Mar #7 on State Route 7 in Marietta reported receiving a bad check for $74.18 at 7:10 pm that evening. This case remains under investigation (296).

the Sheriff’s Office received the following warrants:

Gene D. Craig, age 31, 306 Colegate Drive, Marietta, for failing to appear to serve seventy-three days in jail on 17 Jun 04.

Shawn W. Sturm, age 19, 905 Cisler Lane, Marietta, for failing to appear to serve thirty days in jail on 17 Jun 04.

Phillip J. Terry, age 34, 668 West Cherry Street, Scottsburg, IN, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $310.50.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Michael Alan Lightfritz, age 24, 717 Quarry Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Lightfritz was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 04 at 2:00 am.

Jesse Lee Fisher III, age 18, 2537 Thirteenth Street, Ironton, OH, for a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon and a misdemeanor charge of speeding. Fisher was arrested on US 50 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 04 at 2:30 am.

Jeffrey William Hunn, age 18, 122 Harmar Street, Marietta, for operating without a license and for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors. Hunn was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Ellenwood of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Aug 04 at 5:45 pm.
