On 1 Aug 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans responded to the scene of the death of an eighty-three year old Belpre woman. No foul play is suspected, the death appears to be due to natural causes.

On 1 Aug 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins investigated an anonymous caller’s claim that a thirteen year old New Matamoras resident was assaulted by her mother’s forty-one year old boyfriend. This case remains under investigation.

On 1 Aug 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans issued a citation to Jennifer S. Athenson, age 22, 320 West Pittsburgh Street, Gwensburg, PA, for traveling 74 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Evans stopped Ms. Athenson on State Route 7 near US 50 in Belpre Township.

On 1 Aug 04 Ronald D. Frame, age 61, 881 State Route 555, Little Hocking, reported between 4 pm on 25 Jul and 11 am on 1 Aug, a green Kawasaki ATV was stolen from a barn on his property. This case remains under investigation (1203).

On 1 Aug 04 Kimberly Anderson, age 40, 138 Franklin Street, Marietta, reported after her five month old dog became suddenly ill, the veterinarian informed her she believed the dog may have been poisoned. This case remains under investigation (697).

On 1 Aug 04 Deputy Sheriff Wells investigated a two vehicle collision in the parking lot of the Washington County Juvenile Center at 1699 Colegate Drive in Marietta. Driving a Chevy Lumina, Jeffrey W. Hunn, age 18, 122 Harmar Street, Marietta, was backing from a parking space when he struck the left rear fender of a Saab 9000 CD owned by Heidi Lanning, 300 Ridgewood Court Apt. B, Marietta. Mr. Hunn fled the scene but was later identified by witnesses of the incident. Both vehicles sustained nonfunctional damage.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Aaron Curtis Camino, age 35, 128456 Huckleberry Road, Coolville, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Camino was arrested near Murphy Alley in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Aug 04 at 1:15 am.

David Michael Harmon, age 60, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Harmon was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Sury of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Aug 04 at 1:25 pm.

Jason Lee Myers, age 19, 122 Elmwood Avenue, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Myers was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Hilverding of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Aug 04 at 9:35 pm.
