On 28 Jul 04 Deputy Sheriff Malone responded a report of the death of a seventy-four year old Marietta woman. No foul play is suspected, the death appears to be due to natural causes.

On 28 Jul 04 Ian Young, age 24, 125 Millers Lane, Marietta, reported an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle between 11 pm Tuesday night and 6 am Wednesday morning and stole a CD player, numerous CD’s as well as backpacks belonging to him and his wife containing various college textbooks. This case remains under investigation (586).

On 28 Jul 04 an employee of Big 4 Motorsports, 25955 State Route 7, Marietta, reported a Belpre woman wrote the business a bad check for $366.23 on 9 Jun 04. This case remains under investigation (1184).

On 28 Jul 04 Betty Jo Kostka, age 51, 2595 Woodruff Road, Vincent, reported discovering a 2004 Kia Sedona an acquaintance was driving was, in fact stolen from a car dealership in New Castle, DE. This case remains under investigation (697).

On 28 Jul 04 Allen W. Davis, age 44, 865 Leith Run Road, New Matamoras, reported between 10 Jun and 27 Jul, an unknown suspect(s) entered his home, opened a locked safe and stole a large amount of cash from inside. This case remains under investigation (1184).

Timothy R. Higginbotham, age 28, 542 Apple Street, New Martinsville, WV, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $130.

Delwyn K. Johnson, age 26, 2926 Sente Lane, Columbus, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $1,413.50.

Robert A. Klein, 537 Zanesville Street, Beverly, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $629.

William E. O’Brien, age 40, PO Box 64, Lower Salem, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $237.

Misty D. Schultz, age 37, 180 West Jennison Avenue, Logan OH, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $490.75.

Stephen Van Sickle, age 48, 41 Lexington Park, Vienna, for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for a scheduled appointment as ordered by the court.

William Robert Harris, age 24, 213 Fourth Street, Lowell, for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for a scheduled appointment as ordered by the court.

Chad Greenleaf, age 33, 1505 Beaver Street, Parkersburg, for failing to appear to serve six days in jail on 9 Jul 04.

Jennifer N. Burton, age 20, 26129 State Route 7 Lot G, Marietta, for theft of property from Wal-Mart valued less than $500.

Michael P. Hollingsworth, age 25, 2255 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, for failing to appear to serve two hundred and one days in jail on 23 Jun 04.

Michael L. Watkins, age 35, 156 Turkey Hollow Road, Cutler, for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for a scheduled appointment as ordered by the court.
