On 23 Jul 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins investigated
a single vehicle crash on County Road 9 at the intersection
Milltown Road in Lawrence Township. Frederick L. Uselton, age
38, 50510 State Route 7, New Matamoras, was eastbound on County
Road 9 in his Geo when he lost control in a patch of gravel
and struck a utility pole at the corner of Milltown Road. Mr.
Uselton’s suffered no injuries and was issued a citation
for failure to control; his vehicle sustained disabling damage
On 23 Jul 04 Andrew W. Dillinger, age 32, 2010
Patten Mills Road, Stockport, reported being defrauded out of
$550 by a Russian woman he met on the internet. This case remains
under investigation (690).
On 23 Jul 04 a twenty year old Marietta resident
reported her boyfriend threatened to harm himself. The individual
was located and transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital for
treatment and evaluation (598).
On 23 Jul 04 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes was dispatched
to 1808 Sealey Ridge Road, Vincent, in response to a domestic
dispute. Daniel R. Hess, age 38, advised Deputy Rhodes his wife
Jamie, age 39, repeatedly twisted his left arm in an attempt
to remove his wedding ring and also shoved him in the back.
Mr. Hess further detailed his fear at the fact his wife left
the residence with a ten millimeter handgun, which at the time
had no involvement in the dispute. Accordingly, Deputy Rhodes
requested a warrant for the arrest of Mrs. Hess for domestic
violence.
On 23 Jul 04 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole investigated
an assault perpetrated by an inmate at the Washington County
Jail. Deputy Stackpole deduced Marc Crockett, age 1210 Colonial
Drive, Marietta, assaulted Daniel Ward, 1111 Cost Road, Stonewood,
WV, because of his constant agitation and offensive body odor.
Mr. Crockett attempted to force Mr. Ward into the shower and
when he refused, Mr. Crockett struck Mr. Ward several times.
As a result, Deputy Stackpole served Mr. Crockett with a charge
of assault.

Office received the following warrants:
Shawn A. Gill, age 24, 836 Pike Street Apt.
1, Marietta, for disorderly conduct for recklessly causing inconvenience,
annoyance or alarm to another on 25 Jun 04.
Rocky D. Huck, age 23, 20330 State Route 60,
Beverly, for criminal damaging for knowingly causing physical
harm to the property of another on 15 Apr 04.
Serena C. Lindsey, age 28, 1007 Orchard Street,
Marietta, for failing to appear to serve three days in jail
on 18 Jul 04 on the charge of driving under an FRA suspended
license.
James D. Ramsey, age 41, 300 Starlight Drive
Box 23, Marietta, for failing to appear to serve three days
in jail on 2 Jul 04 on the charge of domestic violence.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Nicholas Joseph Dunfee, age 24, 2124 ½
Washington Boulevard, Belpre, for violating the terms of his
probation, a felony. Dunfee was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman
Williams of the Belpre City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 23 Jul 04 at 1:00 am.
Brian Denver Hess, age 28, 836 Pike Street
Apt. 2, Marietta, for three counts of possession of drugs, for
possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug instruments,
theft and for failure to appear, all misdemeanors. Hess was
arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 23 Jul 04 at 3:11 pm.
Deidra Michelle Wriston, age 23, 203 Poplar
Lane, Marietta, for passing bad checks, a misdemeanor. Wriston
was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 23 Jul 04 at 5:45 pm.
