On 17 Jul 04 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes along with Sgt. Hiatt and Deputy Sheriff Wells were dispatched to the home of Kenneth L. Roberts, age 34, at 945B Joe Skinner Road in Belpre to investigate a possible burglary. A neighbor informed the Deputies she was caring for Mr. Roberts’ pets while he was away and when she entered the house Saturday morning, the front door was ajar and the living room in disarray. Inspection by Mr. Roberts revealed the following items were stolen: an effects processor, two Kramer electric guitars, a Yamaha guitar, a Casio keyboard and a Peavy amplifier. This case remains under investigation.

On 17 Jul 04 Randall B. Foutty, age 42, 169 Mill Branch Road, Belpre, reported after receiving several emails from an unknown individual professing he was owed a large sum of money to Mr. Foutty, the individual sent two fraudulent checks. Unbeknownst to him, an additional unknown suspect forged and deposited into the funds into the account of Mr. Foutty. This case remains under investigation (1203).

On 17 Jul 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins initiated a traffic stop after observing the driver of a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign while exiting Kinderhook Park onto County Road 244. In speaking with the driver Jason R. Poling, age 21, 2508 Rocky Run Road, St Marys, Deputy Mankins noticed an odor of marijuana and inquired if Mr. Poling possessed any contraband. Mr. Poling confirmed he did and handed Deputy Mankins a bag of marijuana, rolling papers and half a joint from his ashtray. Deputy Mankins arrested Mr. Poling for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Patrick Timothy Shaw, age 38, 629 Marietta Lane, Marietta, for assault, a misdemeanor. Shaw was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Jul 04 at 1:15 am.

Timothy William Sheets, age 21, 3686 Hooppole Ridge Road, McConnellsville, for .08 breath OVI, driving under an FRA suspended license and for failure to register, all misdemeanors. Sheets was arrested at mile post seven on State Route 60 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Jul 04 at 3:45 am.

Jerry Lee Wigal, age 38, 845 County House Lane, Marietta, for driving under a license suspended for not paying citations and for operating under a temporary permit without a licensed driver present, both misdemeanors. Wigal was arrested at mile post nine on State Route 60 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Jul 04 at 4:45 am.

Thomas Eugene Murray, age 27, 60 AE Millers Road, Lowell, for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Murray was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Jul 04 at 10:15 am.

Stephanie Jean Reed, age 31, 1405 Grandview Street, Parkersburg, for operating without a license and speeding, both misdemeanors. Reed turned herself in to Detective Jenkins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Jul 04 at 10:16 pm.
