On 3 Jul 04 Deputy Sheriff Malone investigated
a hit-skip collision at 2000 McNeal Road in Waterford. An unknown
vehicle, believed to be a truck, left the right side of the
roadway between midnight and 6 am, traveled nearly the entire
length of the yard and struck several rose bushes and a silver
maple tree before fleeing the scene. This incident remains under
investigation.
On 3 Jul 04 Deputy Sheriff Malone investigated
a pedestrian-vehicle accident at 307 Fourth Street in Lowell.
The home’s resident Donna J. Arnold, age 53, was backing
her Ford Taurus from the garage when she struck her nine year
old son with the rear right tire of her vehicle. Ms. Arnold
transported her son to Marietta Memorial hospital for treatment
of minor injuries.
On 3 Jul 04 Jeffrey S. Moyers, age 43, 10965 State
Route 550, Vincent, reported between Friday and Saturday evenings
an unknown suspect(s) entered his home and stole a Fender guitar
and case, a Fender mandolin and case, a tube of toothpaste and
dental floss. This case remains under investigation (200).
On 3 July 04 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes began an investigation
into an assault that allegedly occurred at a home on Warrior
Drive in Vincent.
On 3 Jul 04 Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier was dispatched
to 809 Grandview Avenue, New Matamoras, in response to a domestic
dispute. Neil D. Groves, age 37, stated his wife Hester, age
40, became angry and forced him against the railing on the porch,
then punched and choked him. Witnesses also state Mrs. Groves
ran across the street and struck a friend of Mr. Groves three
times. Accordingly, Deputy Brockmeier arrested Mrs. Groves for
domestic violence and assault and transported her to the Washington
County Jail.
On 3 Jul 04 Claude Allman, age 76, 1203 Way Road,
Belpre, reported his red Honda TRX350 ATV was stolen from his
storage shed between noon Friday and Saturday afternoon. This
incident remains under investigation (1090).
On 3 Jul 04 an employee at the rest stop on Interstate
77 reported receiving several harassing phone calls after repeatedly
ordering the caller to cease doing so. This incident remains
under investigation (296).
On 3 Jul 04 Autumn D. Smith, age 28, 120 Longacre
Street, Marietta, reported she was assaulted during an argument
with her boyfriend over his amorous exploits with another woman.
This incident remains under investigation (296).
On 3 Jul 04 Richard L. Wynn, age 45, Route 1 Box
20, Fleming, reported a guest at a party where he was providing
security began bothering other guests and using offensive language.
William T. Gilliam, age 40, 390 Bella Vista, Marietta, became
combative when asked to leave the premises and as a result was
arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Washington
County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Daniel Lee Collins, age 42, Route 2 Box 201, Mineral
Wells, WV, for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, both
misdemeanors. Collins was arrested in Belpre by Officer Bear
of the Department of Natural Resources and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 3 Jul 04 at 12:35 am.
Kenneth Charles Conley II, age 42, 1022 George
Street, Parkersburg, for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Conley was arrested in Belpre by Officer
Bear of the Department of Natural Resources and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 3 Jul 04 at 12:35 am.
Clifford Edward Jones, age 29, Route 2 Box 203,
Mineral Wells, WV, for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia
and for fishing without a license, all misdemeanors. Jones was
arrested in Belpre by Officer Bear of the Department of Natural
Resources and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3
Jul 04 at 12:35 am.
Roger Dale Logston Jr., age 31, 2 Honeysuckle
Drive Apt. 4, Parkersburg, for a felony charge and a misdemeanor
charge of possession of drugs. Logston was arrested on Braun
Road in Belpre by Patrolman Smeeks of the Belpre City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
3 Jul 04 at 3:20 am.
Steven Leroy Jones, age 45, 18012 Hiller Avenue,
Cleveland, for .08 breath OVI, speeding and for not wearing
a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Jones was arrested on Interstate
77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 3 Jul 04 at 5:40 pm.
Hester Jean Groves, age 40, 101 Evans Street,
New Matamoras, for domestic violence and assault, both misdemeanors.
Groves was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Jul 04 at
7:05 pm.
