On 19 Jun 04 Lt. Canavan investigated a two vehicle
collision in the parking lot of Kardex on State Route 7 in Marietta.
Elizabeth E. Lane, age 40, 516 Bukey Avenue Apt. 7A, Williamstown,
was parked in the parking lot when a sixteen year old female
driving a Chevy Cavalier backed into the front left fender of
Ms. Lane’s Toyota Camry. Only Ms. Lane’s vehicle
sustained minor damage.
On 19 Jun 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans initiated a
traffic stop on State Route 821 near State Route 60 after observing
the vehicle traveling 64 mph in a 55 mph zone. In speaking with
the driver, Michael Herrington, age 20, 1239 Cisler Drive, Marietta,
Deputy Evans noticed an odor of alcohol. Mr. Herrington admitted
consuming a shot of Crown Royal earlier in the evening and performed
poorly on field sobriety tests. Mr. Herrington was issued a
citation for speeding, arrested for underage consumption and
underage OVI and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 19 Jun 04 Lt. Huffer and Deputy Sheriff Evans
were dispatched to 1378 Stone Quarry Road, Fleming, in response
to a domestic dispute. Kimberly J. Kelly, age 38, stated that
upon returning to their residence after celebrating their anniversary,
an argument ensued during which John F. Kelly, age 37, slapped
and punched his wife several times and pushed her down onto
their couch. As a result of their investigation Deputy Evans
arrested Mr. Kelly for felony domestic violence, for having
been previously convicted of domestic violence, and transported
to the Washington County Jail where Deputy Evans requested he
remain without bond.
On 19 Jun 04 Vicky Johnson, age 49, 678 Walsh
Road, Vincent reported an unknown suspect set fire to her flower
bed between 11 am and 5 pm that day. This case remains under
investigation (586).
On 19 Jun 04 James Lowers, age 25, 13122 State
Route 676, Waterford, reported as he attempted to leave a party
at Heiss Hollow, a female jumped on the hood of his Ford Mustang
and repeatedly kicked the windshield. This case remains under
investigation (1090).
On 19 Jun 04 Deputy Sheriffs Evans and Spencer
responded to 11620 State Route 339, Vincent, after dispatchers
received two phone calls from a frantic woman calling from a
cell phone along State Route 339. When the Deputies spoke with
the caller, Tammie J. Moore, age 24, stated her husband Shawn,
age 26, was intoxicated, driving at a high rate of speed and
threatened to kill them both. Seeing as Mrs. Moore was in fear
for her safety, Mr. Moore was arrested for domestic violence
and transported to the Washington County Jail where Deputy Evans
requested he remain without bond.
On 19 Jun 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans initiated a
traffic stop on State Route 821 near Interstate 77 after observing
the vehicle he was following traveling well below the 55 mph
speed limit and swerving in its lane of travel. In speaking
with the driver, Thomas S. Rutter, age 41, Masonic Park Road,
Marietta, Deputy Evans noticed an odor of alcohol and requested
Mr. Rutter submit to a series of field sobriety tests, on which
he performed poorly. Consequently, Deputy Evans arrested Mr.
Rutter for OVI and transported him to the Washington County
Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Julio Martinez Jr., age 23, 3619 Stickine Avenue,
Cleveland, for driving under suspension and speeding, both misdemeanors.
Martinez was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Jun
04 at 12:20 am.
Thomas Stewart Rutter, age 41, Box 270, Masonic
Park Road, Marietta, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Rutter was arrested
on State Route 821 by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 19 Jun 04 at 12:29 am.
Georgene M. Christopher, age 35, 23180 Jordan
Run Road, Coolville, for failure to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Christopher was arrested
in Belpre by Patrolman Davis of the Belpre City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Jun 04 at
2:20 am.
John Francis Kelly, age 37, 1378 Stone Quarry
Road, Fleming, for domestic violence, a felony. Kelly was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 19 Jun 04 at 2:40 am.
Shawn Jennings Moore, age 26, 11620 State Route
339, Vincent, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Moore was
arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 19 Jun 04 at 4:10 am.
Jeffrey David Muscari, age 40, 3170 Innisbrock
Court, Pickerington, OH, for OVI, no seat belt and failure to
signal, all misdemeanors. Muscari was arrested in Belpre by
Patrolman Morris of the Belpre City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 19 Jun 04 at 7:14 am.
Carmalea Ann Myers, age 27, 802 Second Street,
Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor.
Myers was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Nedeff of the
Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 19 Jun 04 at 7:50 pm.
