On 15 Jun 04 Deputy Sheriff Sears received a tip
regarding the whereabouts of a registered sex offender. During
his investigation Deputy Sears learned that Edward H. Krogman,
age 47, 702 Washington Square, Marietta, moved from his registered
address to Cleveland without notifying Deputy Sears of a change
of address. Accordingly, Deputy Sears requested a warrant for
Mr. Krogman for failure to report a change in address.
On 15 Jun 04 Elizabeth Knighten, age 19, 425 County
House Lane, Marietta, and her roommates reported after being
away from their residence for several hours, they returned home
to find two suspects inside their home. All of the victims did
not find any property missing. This case remains under investigation
(500, 501).
On 15 Jun 04 Sgt. Underwood issued a citation
to Jonathan G. Coffman, age 18, 2708 Edina Boulevard, Zion,
IL, for traveling 78 mph in a 60 mph zone. Sgt. Underwood stopped
Mr. Coffman on US 50 near Township Road 97 in Belpre Township.
On 15 Jun 04 Connie S. Bibbee, age 48, 4402 School
House Road, Little Hocking, reported a visiting relative may
have stolen two cookie jars full of marbles last month. This
case remains under investigation (490).
On 15 Jun 04 Sgt. Hiatt investigated a deer-vehicle
collision near mile marker nine on State Route 821. Donna K.
Fulton, age 50, 1220 McGrath Road, Macksburg, was northbound
on State Route 821 when she struck a deer with her Ford Ranger,
causing non-functional damage.
On 15 Jun 04 Clifford Winstanley, age 76, 215
Caywood Road, Marietta, reported a family member may have stolen
two hundred dollars in change from his home during the past
week. This case remains under investigation (500).
On 15 Jun 04 Jail Lieutenant Ketelsen reported
an inmate had purposefully set fire to several items in his
cell. A subsequent search for the burnt items yielded a sheet,
a pair of socks, a pair of underwear and small pieces of paper.
The inmate, Ryan Davis, age 21, admitted burning the items because
he was bored and served with a charge of arson. No injuries
were reported as a result of the incident.
On 15 Sgt. Hiatt met with Nancy Seagle, age 22,
4105 Burnett Road, Cutler, in reference to a domestic dispute.
Ms. Seagle stated she was involved in a verbal altercation with
her live-in boyfriend James Rhodes, age 28, concerning the fact
that Mr. Rhodes brought another girlfriend to their residence.
Mr. Rhodes then pushed her to the ground and kicked her several
times. Once inside the residence Mr. Rhodes began poking Ms.
Seagle in the head with his finger then punched her in the jaw
and slammed her head into the wall before she was able to abscond
the scene. As a result, Mr. Rhodes was arrested for domestic
violence and transported to the Washington County Jail where
he was given the option to post a personal recognizance bond.
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
Randy L. Snyder, age 40, Route 2 Box 97, Dayton,
PA, for violating the terms of his probation by failing to contact
the probation department on 24 Jan 03 and for failing to show
proof of court ordered counseling.
Jesse L. Morgan, age 21, 612 Fairground Street,
Caldwell, for contempt for failing to appear as ordered by the
court on an indictment pending for the illegal processing of
drug documents.
Michael S. Porter, age 29, Route 2 Box 1013A,
Point Pleasant, WV, for contempt for failing to appear as ordered
by the court on an indictment pending for passing bad checks.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
James Dennis Rhodes, age 28, 519 Ingram Road,
Newport, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Rhodes was arrested
at his residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 Jun
04 at 9:35 am.
Justin Allan Hall, age 21, 220 Pennsylvania Avenue
Apt. 1, Marietta, for failure to appear, a felony. Hall was
picked up at the Massillon City Jail by Deputy Sheriff Underwood
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 Jun 04 at
3:15 pm.
Delwyn Keith Johnson, age 25, 23926 Sente Lane,
Columbus, for contempt of a court order, theft and for two counts
of breach of recognizance, all misdemeanors. Johnson was picked
up in Franklin County by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 15 Jun 04 at 3:15 pm.
Jason Ray Luke, age 21, 113 Harmar Street, Marietta,
for driving under an FRA suspension, a misdemeanor. Luke was
arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 15 Jun 04 at 8:15 pm.
