On 5 Jun 04 Deputy Sheriff McLeish issued a citation
to Phillip J. Haught, age 34, 1711 Andrew Street, Parkersburg
for failure to register. Deputy McLeish stopped Mr. Haught on
Jett Hill Road near County Road 9 in Newport Township.
On 5 Jun 04 Deputy Sheriff Eddy investigated a
hit-skip crash at 115 Jennings Hill Road in Marietta Township.
The previous night, the home’s resident reported hearing
a crash but did not see a vehicle but the next morning found
tire tracks through his yard, his newspaper box demolished and
a piece belonging to a truck’s bed liner. This incident
remains under investigation.
On 5 Jun 04 while working at the Reno Raceway,
Deputy Sheriff Mankins came into contact with an individual
with an odor of alcohol who also appeared under twenty-one years
old. Justin T. Earhart, age 20, 806 Garfield Avenue, Marietta,
admitted he was in fact under twenty-one and had consumed several
beers earlier in the evening. Deputy Mankins arrested Mr. Earhart
for underage consumption of alcohol and transported him to the
Washington County Jail.
On 5 Jun 04 while en route to investigate a domestic
dispute at her residence, Deputy Sheriff made contact with Cora
Farmer, age 48, 337 Wells Road, Waterford, who was walking along
Wells Road. Ms. Farmer stated her husband Garin, age 37, threw
a table on her, grabbed her neck, threw her down and kicked
her in the ribs. In conclusion from his investigation Deputy
Rhodes arrested Mr. Farmer for domestic violence and transported
him to the Washington County Jail where he was given the option
to post bond.
On 5 Jun 04 traveling northbound on County Road
9 in Lawrence Township Deputy Jenkins witnessed a vehicle abruptly
stop and the driver quickly exit the vehicle. Concerned for
the welfare of the occupants of the vehicle Deputy Jenkins stopped
to speak with the driver and immediately noticed the driver’s
bloodshot eyes and an odor of alcohol. A computer check confirmed
the driver, Darrell L. Johnson, age 31, 1350 Long Run Road,
Newport, driving under a suspended license and had prior convictions
for the same offense as well as for OVI. Mr. Johnson refused
to complete field sobriety tests, was arrested for driving under
suspension and OVI and transported to the Washington County
Jail where he was given the option to post bond.
On 5 Jun 04 Shawn Gill, age 24, 836 Pike Street
Apt. 1, Marietta, reported witnessing Randi S. Oliver, age 20,
Apt. 3, and Kris Brannan, age 28, Apt. 6, throwing eggs and
tomatoes at his vehicle parked in the lot of Sierra Apartments.
Further investigation by Deputy Sheriff Eddy also revealed Ms.
Oliver also bombarded the hallway of the complex with eggs and
water. In consequence Deputy Eddy requested summonses for Ms.
Oliver and Mr. Brannan for criminal mischief.
On 5 Jun 04 Wiley F. Crouch, age 60, 921 Boggy
Hollow Road, Coolville, reported being scratched in the cheek
and arm by his wife. Mr. Crouch desired not to pursue the matter
further (698).
On 5 Jun 04 Sgt. Underwood issued a citation to
Carla R. Adams, age 37, 812 Campbell Drive, Belpre, for traveling
54 mph in a 40 mph zone. Sgt. Underwood stopped Ms. Adams on
State Route 7 near Bramblewood Heights Road in Warren Township.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Nicholas Bruce Bowman, age 23, 5600 Johnson Ridge
Road, Waterford, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Bowman was arrested at his residence
by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 5 Jun 04 at 6:00 pm.
Justin Thomas Earhart, age 20, 806 Garfield Avenue,
Marietta, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor.
Earhart was arrested at the Reno Raceway by Deputy Sheriff Willson
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jun 04 at
8:30 pm.
Darrell Lee Johnson, age 31, 1350 Long Run Road,
Newport, for OVI and driving under a suspended license. Johnson
was arrested on Miller Lane by Deputy Sheriff Jenkins and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jun 04 at 9:10 pm.
Garin Matthew Farmer, age 37, 337 Wells Road,
Waterford, for domestic violence, a felony. Farmer was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 5 Jun 04 at 10:30 pm.
