On 4 Jun 04 a New Matamoras woman reported her
sixteen year old daughter left home the previous evening without
permission. When confronted upon her return, the daughter again
fled the residence on foot. Accordingly, Deputy Sheriff Brown
requested a summons for the juvenile for being unruly.
On 4 Jun 04 Charles M. Moore, age 28, Box 175
State Route 183, New Matamoras, was working on a car with a
friend at 1870 Rinard Mills Road, New Matamoras, when the vehicle’s
owner appeared in a drunken and agitated state. James H. Ridgeway,
age 39, 1870 Rinard Mills Road, New Matamoras, immediately became
aggressive toward Mr. Moore, struck him several times and repeatedly
had to be pulled off Mr. Moore. As a result of Deputy Sheriff
Mankins’ investigation Mr. Ridgeway was arrested for felonious
assault and transported to the Washington County Jail. This
case remains under investigation.
On 4 Jun 04 a Lower Salem resident reported her
estranged husband left their nine, eight and four year old children
unattended at his home for forty-five minutes earlier in the
day. This case remains under investigation (586).
On 4 Jun 04 Sgt. Hiatt was dispatched to the home
of Kathleen F. Erb, age 55, 109 Longacre Street, Marietta, to
investigate a domestic violence complaint. Ms. Erb stated her
live-in boyfriend Joseph D. Clatterbuck, age 69, was angry over
their living situation and slapped her. Hearing the commotion,
Ms. Erb’s son entered the room to intervene and was also
slapped by Mr. Clatterbuck. Accordingly, Sgt. Hiatt arrested
Mr. Clatterbuck for two counts of domestic violence and transported
him to the Washington County Jail where he was given the option
to post bond.
On 4 Jun 04 Brenda M. Flowers, age 58, 9829 State
Route 555, Cutler, reported antique dishware and a variety of
other items she prepared to sell at a yard sale were stolen
from the basement of her home between 26 and 28 May 04. This
case remains under investigation (1071).
On 4 Jun 04 Nicole L. Farnsworth, age 23, 508
Sixth Street, Lowell, reported receiving two phone calls from
an individual, purporting to be from a government agency, requesting
to use her personal information to deduct money from her bank
account. This case remains under investigation (1071).
On 4 Jun 04, after being levied with numerous
fines and citations by the Dog Warden, several witnesses reported
Gary Frazier, age 58, 545 Wilson Drive, Lowell, retrieved a
shotgun from his home and heard him threaten to shoot the his
neighbor for reporting the violations to authorities. Based
on these threats Deputy Sheriff Evans requested a summons for
Mr. Frazier for disorderly conduct.
On 4 Jun 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans investigated
a two vehicle collision in the parking lot of Warren High School
at 130 Warrior Drive in Vincent. A sixteen year old female was
backing her Pontiac Grand Am from a parking stall when she struck
the front bumper of a parked Dodge Aries owned by Kathi Williams,
1091 State Route 339, Belpre. The juvenile’s car sustained
light damage while Ms. Williams’ vehicle escaped unscathed.

Jonathan D. Slonaker, age 20, 502 ½ Broadway
Avenue, New Matamoras, for violating the terms of a protection
order issued by another state.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
David William Long II, age 27, 580 Albright Road,
Waterford, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Long was arrested in Lowell by Deputy Sheriff Jenkins and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 4 Jun 04 at 3:52 am.
Michael D. Slonaker, age 20, 502 ½ Broadway
Avenue, New Matamoras, for menacing, a misdemeanor. Slonaker
turned himself in and was processed into the Washington County
Jail on 4 Jun 04 at 6:15 am.
James Harvey Ridgeway, age 39, 1870 Rinard Mills
Road, New Matamoras, for felonious assault. Ridgeway was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Eddy and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 4 Jun 04 at 2:30 pm.
Aaron John Sarver, age 18, 300 Phillips Street,
Marietta, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Sarver was arrested
on Wooster Street by Detective Johnson of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 4 Jun 04 at 2:58 pm.
Ronald Lee Cyrus Hornbeck, age 32, PO Box 583,
Belpre, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Hornbeck was arrested at his residence
by Lt. Huffer of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Jun 04 at
3:25 pm.
Aaron Freeman Farnsworth, age 19, 122 Harmar Street,
Marietta, for underage consumption of alcohol, consuming alcohol
in a motor vehicle, breach of recognizance and juvenile offenses,
all misdemeanors. Farnsworth was arrested at his residence by
Juvenile Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 4 Jun 04 at 2:58 pm.
Joseph David Clatterbuck, age 69, 109 Longacre
Street, Marietta, for two counts of domestic violence, both
misdemeanors. Clatterbuck was arrested at his residence by Sgt.
Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 4 Jun 04 at 7:50 pm.
