On 2 Jun 04 Detective Warden began an investigation
into the intimidation of a witness in a criminal proceeding.
During a preliminary hearing the suspect in the case began directing
threats toward the victim. This case was forwarded to the prosecutor’s
office for possible grand jury consideration.
On 2 Jun 04 Deputy Sheriff Eddy issued a citation
to Charles C. Carpenter Jr., age 19, 1510 Burnett Drive, Cutler,
for traveling 64 mph in a 45 mph zone. Deputy Eddy stopped Mr.
Carpenter on State Route 550 near Wynncrest Drive in Warren
Township.
On 2 Jun 04 Deputy Sheriff Eddy issued a citation
to Gladys A. Oberdier, age 64, 2064 Darnold Road, Vincent, for
traveling 45 mph in a 20 mph zone. Deputy Eddy stopped Ms. Oberdier
on State Route 550 near Warren Elementary School in Warren Township.
On 2 Jun 04 a Marietta woman reported her fourteen
year old daughter left home without permission. The juvenile
was located and returned to the custody of her mother (1184).
On 2 Jun 04 Sgt. Hiatt was dispatched to the home
of Melinda Hensler, age 26, 30155 State Route 7, Marietta, to
investigate a domestic violence complaint. Thereupon his arrival
Mrs. Hensler apprised Sgt. Hiatt that during an argument her
husband David, age 26, pinned her on the bed and tightly covered
her mouth and nose with his hand. Being that Mrs. Hensler was
in fear for her safety Sgt. Hiatt arrested Mr. Hensler for domestic
violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail where
he was released on a personal recognizance bond.
On 2 Jun 04 Deputy Sheriff Jenkins initiated a
traffic stop on State Route 7 near Holdren Lane after observing
the vehicle he was following turn off the roadway without using
the proper turn signal. In speaking with the driver Deputy Jenkins
observed Harvey L. Felton Jr., age 25, 1308 Williamson Avenue,
New Matamoras, had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. Mr.
Felton admitted consuming alcohol and performed poorly on subsequent
field sobriety tests. Based on his observations Deputy Jenkins
arrested Mr. Felton for OVI and transported to the Washington
County Jail where he was released on a personal recognizance
bond.
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
Dustin L. McKnight, age 18, Route 1 Box 17 State
Route 520, Lowell, for violating the terms of his probation
by failing to inform his probation officer of a change of address,
for traveling outside the county without permission and for
failing to pay court costs.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Chico Maurice Mason, age 29, Maple Street Apt.
3, Newport, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony.
Mason was arrested at his residence by Detective Alkire of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 2 Jun 04 at 1:20 pm.
David Wayne Hensler, age 26, 30155 State Route
7, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Hensler was
arrested at his residence by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 2 Jun 04 at 8:30 pm.
Joshua Allen Campbell, age 21, 314 Washington
Street, for passing bad checks, a misdemeanor. Campbell was
arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Hilverding of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 2 Jun 04 at 9:00 pm.
