On 31 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Norman initiated a
traffic stop on County Road 4 near Westview Drive after clocking
a passing vehicle traveling 57 mph in a 35 mph zone. Upon making
contact with the driver William S. Biehl, age 29, 116 Westchester
Drive, Marietta, was slurring his speech and Deputy Norman detected
a strong odor of alcohol. Mr. Biehl was generally uncooperative
and refused to complete field sobriety tests and instead began
talking on his cell phone and smoking a cigarette. Mr. Biehl
was arrested for OVI and transported to the Washington County
Jail
On 31 May 04 Detective Warden initiated a traffic
stop on Sealey Ridge Road in Dunham Township after he observed
the driver of the vehicle fail to use a turn signal. A computer
check of a passenger in the vehicle returned three outstanding
warrants for the arrest of Tabitha Way, age 22, 1910 Ross Avenue,
Little Hocking. Detective Warden also issued Ms. Way a minor
misdemeanor citation for marijuana found in her possession at
the time of her arrest.
On 31 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Norman issued a citation
to Clare E. Gahring, age 18, 28400 Cambridge Lane, Pepper Pike,
OH, for traveling 52 mph in a 35 mph zone and for driving under
a suspended license. Deputy Norman stopped Ms. Gahring on County
Road 4 at West view Avenue in Marietta Township.
On 31 May 04 a Beverly resident reported her fifteen
year old daughter took her van and left their residence without
permission. Sgt. Hiatt located the van, returned the juvenile
home and requested a summons for the juvenile for being delinquent.
On 31 May 04 Allen Reeder, age 34, 2700 Sand Hill
Road, Marietta, reported between 2:30 am on 29 May and 8 am
on 31 May an unknown suspect(s) broke into his Kenworth truck
parked at Marietta Truck Sales on State Route 7 and removed
a Galaxy CB radio. This case remains under investigation (1203).
On 31 May 04 Robert M. Isner, age 40, 125 Belavista
Drive, Marietta, reported between 3 pm on 30 May and 8 am on
31 May an unknown suspect(s) broke into his Kenworth truck parked
at Isner’s Trucking on Route 4 and removed a Galaxy CB
radio. This case remains under investigation (1203).
On 31 May 04 Lt. Wilson issued a citation to Gregory
A. Cale, age 31, Parkersburg, for traveling 72 mph in a 55 mph
zone and for not using a child restraint. Lt. Wilson stopped
Mr. Cale on State Route 7 near County Road 10 in Warren Township.
On 31 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Jenkins initiated
a traffic stop on Township Road 32 in Muskingum Township after
he observed the vehicle he was following fail to signal as the
driver turned right off County Road 79. Upon making contact
with the driver, Isaac W. Muntz, age 22, 612 Warren Street,
Marietta, Deputy Jenkins noticed a strong odor of alcohol. Mr.
Muntz performed poorly on field sobriety tests and while being
arrested was found to have a marijuana pipe in his possession.
The passenger in the vehicle, Jessica S. Martin, age, 20, 1405
Twin Bridge Road, Little Hocking, admitted to consuming alcohol
in the vehicle and was under the influence of alcohol. Ensuing
the stop Deputy Jenkins arrested Mr. Muntz for .08 breath OVI,
possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to signal and Ms.
Martin for underage consumption of alcohol and consuming alcohol
in a vehicle. Both suspects were transported to the Washington
County Jail and released on personal recognizance bonds.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Deron Andrew Quesinberry, age 28, 104 Pearl Street,
Marietta for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Quesinberry was arrested on Interstate
77 Sgt. Underwood of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 May 04 at
12:50 am.
Jessica Sue Martin, age 20, 1405 Twin Bridge Road,
Little Hocking, for underage consumption of alcohol and for
consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors. Martin
was arrested at Devols Dam by Deputy Sheriff Jenkins and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 31 May 04 at 3:00 am.
Isaac William Muntz, age 22, 612 Warren Street,
Marietta, for .08 breath OVI, possession of drug paraphernalia
and failure to signal, all misdemeanors. Muntz was arrested
at Devols Dam by Deputy Sheriff Jenkins and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 31 May 04 at 3:50 am.
