On 27 May 04 the Sheriff’s Office began
an investigation into the breaking and entering and theft of
items from Par Mar #7 at 17785 State Route 7, Marietta (232,
792, 1082, 1190, 698).
On 27 May 04 Dale A. Mincks, age 33, PO Box 369
Shilo Road, Middlebourne, WV, reported he was assaulted while
walking along Green Street in Newport. Mr. Mincks desired not
to pursue charges (296).
On 27 May 04 Gatha Davis, age 62, 10900 State
Route 555, Cutler, reported while she was away from her home
for a few hours on 22 May, an unknown suspect(s) entered her
home and stole two hearing aid batteries, a plastic squirt bottle
and an orange pitcher. This case remains under investigation
(501).
On 27 May 04 Sgt. Hiatt and Deputy Sheriff McLeish
were dispatched to 194 High Street, Vincent, in response to
the address’ resident threatening to harm himself. Upon
their arrival the Deputies noticed Jonathan E. Jennings, age
30, reeked of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet. Refusing
to capitulate, Sgt. Hiatt and Deputy McLeish forced Mr. Jennings
to the ground to handcuff him and had also to be muscled into
the back of the patrol car. Mr. Jennings was charged with disorderly
conduct by intoxication and resisting arrest and transported
to the Washington County Jail.
On 27 May 04 Charles G. Carder, age 66, 944 Hickman
Road, Waterford, reported between 22 and 25 May, an acquaintance
may have stolen several hundred dollars he kept in his home.
This case remains under investigation (1091).
On 27 May 04 a fifteen year old Marietta High
School student reported she was hit by a paintball while riding
the school bus home in the vicinity of Browns Road earlier that
day. This case remains under investigation (1203).
On 27 May 04 an employee of Oxbow Golf Course
on County Road 85 in Belpre, reported four greens and their
respective flag sticks were damage by two juveniles recklessly
driving a golf cart. This case remains under investigation (945).
On 27 May 04 April D. Runnion, age 37, 2264 Two
Mile Road, Cutler, reported an acquaintance came onto her property
to check the welfare of a horse. When asked to leave, Susan
Slider, age 51, 1743 Bender Road, Marietta, refused to do so,
grabbed the arm of Ms. Runnion and pushed her into a wall. Accordingly,
Deputy Sheriff Eddy arrested Ms. Slider for aggravated trespassing
and assault and transported her to the Washington County Jail
where she was released on a personal recognizance bond.

Office received the following warrants AND INDICTMENTS:
Timothy J. Thorne, age 35, 1416 Hocking Road,
Belpre, for third degree felony charges of trafficking in crack
cocaine and possession of crack cocaine and a fifth degree felony
charge of possession of heroin.
Bobbie J. Baker, age 36, Route 4 Box 189 State
Route 7, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation
by failing pay fines in full by 8 May 04 as ordered by the court.
Jesse S. Books, age 21, 213 Curtis Boulevard,
Marietta, for breach of recognizance for failing to appear for
a pretrial hearing as ordered by the court.
Aaron Farnsworth, age 19, 122 Harmar Street, Marietta,
for underage consumption of alcohol, for consuming alcohol in
a motor vehicle on 14 May 04 and for breach of recognizance
for failing to appear at an arraignment on 17 May 04.
Jennifer L. Grimes, age 30, 121 Wells Avenue,
Marietta, for breach of recognizance for failing to appear at
an arraignment on 19 May 04.
Nelia Lowther, Route 1 Box 136A, Amesville, for
failing to appear for a debtor’s exam on 21 May 04.
Norma I. McLean, age 72, 4830 Lick Run Road, Stockport,
for failing to appear for a debtor’s exam on 21 May 04.
David Millhone, 221 State Route 7, Coolville,
for failing to appear for a debtor’s exam on 21 May 04.
Terry L. Nutter, age 48, 330A Franklin Street,
Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation by failing
pay of his fines and for failing to appear to serve eight days
in jail on 26 Apr 04.
William L. Schofield, age 32, 2837 Blennerhassett
Avenue, Belpre, for driving under suspension on 13 May 04.
Crystal L. Smith, age 40, PO Box 813, Beverly,
for failing to appear for a debtor’s exam on 21 May 04.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Susan Elaine Slider, age 51, 1743 Bender Road,
Marietta, for misdemeanor charges of aggravated trespassing
and assault. Slider was arrested on Two Mile Run Road by Deputy
Sheriff Eddy and processed into the Washington County Jail on
27 May 04 at 4:00 pm.
Jonathan Erick Jennings, age 31, 194 High Street,
Vincent, for misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and disorderly
conduct by intoxication. Jennings arrested at his residence
by Deputy Sheriff McLeish and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 27 May 04 at 9:35 pm.
