On 26 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Spencer investigated
a single vehicle collision in the driveway of the Chevron Phillips
plant on State Route 7. Julio C. Enriquez, age 39, 7142 Fir
Street, Houston, TX, was backing his semi and trailer down the
drive when he struck a light pole off the right side of the
drive. The collision resulted in minor damage to the trailer
and light pole.
On 26 May 04 an employee of Barewood Furniture,
Route 1 Box 294, Washington, WV, reported receiving a bad check
for $5,300 for products delivered to an address in Vincent.
This case remains under investigation (8411).
On 26 May 04 a Vincent resident reported witnessing
the driver of a vehicle parked outside his home smoking what
appeared to be marijuana. This case remains under investigation
(586).
On 26 May 04 Lt. Wilson issued a citation to Ricky
D. Lane, age 41, Route 3 Box 57A, St. Marys, WV, for failure
to obey a traffic control device. Lt. Wilson stopped Mr. Lane
at the intersection of Third and Putnam Streets in the City
of Marietta after Mr. Lane failed to obey the red light at the
intersection.
On 26 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation
to a seventeen-year-old New Matamoras resident for traveling
79 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped the young man
near milepost forty-six on State Route 7 in Grandview Township.
On 26 May 04 an employee of Allegheny Power reported
while he attempted to shut off the electricity at a home for
nonpayment, the resident exited home and threatened the worker.

On 26 May 04 Allan S. Worstell, age 42, 330 Browns
Road, Marietta, reported an unknown suspect(s) entered his home
between Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon and stole several items.
This case remains under investigation (296).
On 26 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole and Sgt.
Fields of the Belpre City Police Department responded to cries
of help from a seventeen year old female on Farson Street in
Belpre. The young lady stated while speaking with her ex-boyfriend
inside her vehicle, her ex-boyfriend, Rodney Johnson, age 18,
678 Walsh Road, Belpre, became very upset, threatened her and
upon exiting the vehicle punched the windshield. The female
attempted to walk away from the scene but Mr. Johnson grabbed
her tightly by the arms and would not let her go, causing her
to be in fear for her safety. Mr. Johnson was arrested for criminal
damaging and abduction and transported to the Washington County
Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
David Scott Wiggers Sr., age 42, 714 Circle Drive,
Belpre, for a misdemeanor charge of violating the terms of his
probation. Wiggers was arrested at the office of Probation Officer
Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26
May 04 at 9:25 am.
Rodney Michael Johnson, age 18, 678 Walsh Road,
Vincent, for a felony charge of abduction and a misdemeanor
charge of criminal damaging. Johnson was arrested in Belpre
by Deputy Sheriff Stackpole and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 26 May 04 at 6:30 pm.
Brian David Woodby, age 20, 350 Hendricks Street,
Newport, for a felony charge of trafficking in drugs. Woodby
was arrested in Newport and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 26 May 04 at 9:05 pm.
