On 24 May 04 Howard F. Deaton, age 77, 415 Front
Street, New Matamoras, reported the accumulation of unsightly
refuse along Township Road 422 in Newport over the last five
years. This case remains under investigation (695).
On 24 May 04 Jennifer Brannan, age 26, 924 Robinson
Hill Road, Marietta, reported she was shorted ten dollars in
change after making a purchase via the drive through of the
550 Café on Saturday evening. This case remains under
investigation (597).
On 24 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Gherke was dispatched
to the home of Marandia E. Blouir, age 23, 2245 Silver Globe
Road, Marietta, in response to a domestic violence complaint.
Ms. Blouir stated she asked her former live-in boyfriend Nathaniel
Elder, age 29, 940 Layman Road, Vincent, to come to her house
to pick up his belongings. Mr. Elder followed Ms. Blouir to
the bedroom to retrieve several items but blocked the doorway
prohibiting her exit. Mr. Elder then grabbed Ms. Blouir by the
arms, threw her down on the bed and held her down by the throat.
Freeing herself by a barrage of kicks, Ms. Blouir fled to the
kitchen an ordered Mr. Elder out of the residence. Mr. Elder
left but not before kicking holes in the wall and a cabinet
and also cutting the outside phone line. Based on his investigation
Deputy Gherke arrested Mr. Elder for domestic violence and transported
him to the Washington County Jail.
On 24 May 04 a twenty-one year old Marietta resident
reported receiving harassing phone calls from an acquaintance.
Sgt. Hiatt determined the woman already filed a complaint with
the Marietta City Police Department.
On 24 May 04 Gregg A. Baker, age 29, 28002 Clark
Road, Coolville, reported, while it was broken down and parked
along Township Road 298 near US 50, an unknown suspect(s) stole
a jack from, rolled over and pushed his 1990 Dodge Caravan into
a ditch. This case remains under investigation (200).
On 24 May 04 Sgt. Jobes issued a citation to Matthew
K. Burke, age 33, 1416 Hocking Road, Belpre, for driving under
suspension. Sgt. Jobes issued the citation as a result of an
investigation, during which he surmised that the domestic dispute
began after Mr. Burke returned home after driving on Hocking
Road and in the course of exiting his truck, opened his truck
door into the side of his wife’s rental car. Sgt. Jobes
also determined the charge of domestic violence was unfounded.
On 24 May 04 a bus driver with the Frontier Local
School District reported an unknown suspect(s) broke the windshield
of a bus by throwing rocks. Roger Myers, age 53, 20533 State
Route 26, Marietta, also reported a rock had been thrown through
the front window of his store. These cases remain under investigation
(684).
On 24 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes issued a citation
to John Bowman, age 40, 2706 Hugh Street, Parkersburg, WV, for
failure to obey a traffic control device. Deputy Rhodes stopped
Mr. Bowman at the intersection of State Route 339 and State
Route 550 in Barlow Township after Mr. Booth’s failed
to obey the flashing red lights at the intersection.
On 24 May 04 Sgt. Underwood issued a citation
to Linda L. Warren, age 55, 13 Civitan Park Front, Marietta,
for failure to obey a traffic control device. Sgt. Underwood
stopped Ms. Warren after she made no attempt to stop while turning
from Market Street onto Fort Harmar Drive in Marietta.

Office received the following warrants:
William J. Dawson, age 20, 413 Savage Apts. 13th
Street, Parkersburg, for theft.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
David William Long II, age 27, 580 Albright Road,
Waterford, for a misdemeanor charge of violating the terms of
his probation. Long was arrested at the Washington County Jail
by Corrections Officer Carr of Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the jail on 24 May 04 at 11:00 am.
Hoy Dale McCormick Jr., age 43, PO Box 5028, Vienna,
WV, for misdemeanor charges of breach of recognizance, aggravated
menacing and criminal trespassing. McCormick was picked up at
the Franklin County Jail by Patrolman Combs of the Belpre City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 24 May 04 at 9:00 pm.
Florizel W. Woodford, age 52, 11355 State Route
26, Marietta, for a misdemeanor charge of aggravated menacing.
Woodford was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Hickey of the
Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 24 May 04 at 11:15 pm.
