On 21 May 04 Charlotte Cox, age 79, 619 Fourth
Street, Lowell, reported an unknown suspect called her and attempted
to coax her into giving out personal information. Astutely,
Ms. Cox did not reveal the information. This case remains under
investigation (1183).
On 21 May 04 Roger L. Leasure, age 57, 110 Wrights
Road, Marietta, reported four bottles of prescription medication
and a bottle of tequila were stolen from his home between 7
and 19 May 04. This case remains under investigation (1071).
On 21 May 04 David M. Huck, age 41, 605 Norbie
Lane, Lowell, reported, sometime the previous evening, an unknown
suspect(s) entered his barn and siphoned five gallons of gasoline
from a four wheeler and stole a twelve gauge shotgun. This case
remains under investigation (1071).
On 21 May 04 a thirty-seven year old Marietta
resident reported her fifteen year old son was swearing at her
and refused to go to school. This case remains under investigation
(200).
On 21 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole issued a
citation to Jon H. Booth, 612 29th Street, Parkersburg, for
failure to register. Deputy Stackpole stopped Mr. Booth on State
Route 7 near County Road 3 in Warren Township after observing
the registration on Mr. Booth’s vehicle expired in August
of last year.
On 21 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Gherke investigated
a single vehicle accident originating at a private drive on
Newell’s Run Road in Newport Township. Chad Hendrickson,
age 35, 133 Turkey Hen Road, Fleming, was negotiating an incline
after crossing a swollen Newell’s Run when his Dodge Ram
stalled and was swept five hundred yards downstream. Mr. Hendrickson
suffered no injuries and his vehicle sustained moderate damage.
On 21 May 04 Michael W. Best, 100 Brandy Drive,
Marietta, reported his Ford Ranger was damage between the time
when it was towed for repairs on 19 May and when he picked it
up in 21 May 04. This case remains under investigation (684).
On 21 May 04 Sgt. Hiatt investigated a hit-skip
accident in the parking lot of Greenleaf Landscaping on State
Route 60 in Muskingum Township. The driver of an unknown vehicle
struck a Chevy Metro owned by Rebecca L. Baroz, 278 Muskingum
Drive, Marietta, inflicting moderate damage, then fled the scene.
This incident remains under investigation.
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
David W. Long II, age 27, 580 Albright Road, Waterford,
for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear
for a scheduled meeting with his probation officer and for failing
to complete a driver intervention program as ordered by the
court.
Donald P. Webe Jr., age 28, 7790 Russell Hurst, Kirtland, OH,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication.
Debra M. Harris, age 44, 682 Bender Road, Marietta,
for telephone harassment.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Robert Allen Chubb, age 32, 418 Poplar Street,
Nelsonville, for OVI and for failure to signal, both misdemeanors.
Chubb was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May
04 at 12:45 am.
Kent Douglas McDonald, age 42, 201 Magazine Street,
Columbus, for misdemeanor charges of receiving stolen property
and the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. McDonald was arrested
at the Super 8 Motel by Sgt. Hiatt of Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May
04 at 8:15 am.
Clarence Alvin Wriston Jr., age 48, 732 Second
Street, Marietta, for a misdemeanor charge of possession of
drug paraphernalia. Wriston was arrested on Harmar Street in
Marietta by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 04 at
6:35 pm.
