CONSUMER ADVISORY

The Sheriff’s Office has received reports from Washington County residents concerning being approached by an individual representing a construction company purporting the ability of the business to asphalt the resident’s driveway at a discount price. Subsequent to completing part of the work the suspect presented a bill for four times the estimated cost, which the victims paid, then left the scene and cashed the check before it could be canceled. The work detail, allegedly called Miller Construction, consisted of eight workers and a dump truck. The dump truck is partially red, with a red stripe on a blue and white background and has a West Virginia license plate. One of the workers is five foot four inches tall with a partial beard and long hair.
